My bet is on Parting and aLive. Rogue hasn't shown anything in the past months and Specials best MU is still vs. P. I don't see him winning in a TvT or TvZ though.
Few less tanks and some vikings would be pretty good. Like one viking to help fight the prisms, and the others to soak some damage from Tempests. It could work!

He didn't have the Starport production to make Vikings in the numbers he needed. He only had the one Starport that whole time. One Starport doesn't come close to cutting it vs Tempests once they are out.

I know. What I proposed was different to what special did, if you didn't notice ;-) some theorycrafting that's all xD
I've seen this mass widow mine style on Supernova's stream a LOT.
The widow mines just buy you time while you tech to Battlecruisers. Without the tech to Battlecruisers this style doesn't work, nothing else has the meat or power to make the massive supply cost of the Widow Mines worth it. They cost 2 supply each, that adds up quick.

Yeah I was thinking the same, but SpeCial never even started banking up money. PartinG just disected him in the scrappy fights.

Supernova always turret spams with it too. I usually see him use it vs Tempest fleets but I see no reason why it wouldn't work just as well vs Carriers.
Special's problem was that he wasted all of that gas on Cyclones. Cyclones in that kind of scenario are nowhere near worth their gas cost.

yeah hellion harras would have probably done the same job too

Not sure. You kinda need the cyclones vs the stalkers and disruptors, don't you?

but the same goal is getting BCs tho
BCs are the only thing that can break you OUT of that kind of defensive late game posture as far as I know. If you're making anything else you're just gonna defend until you die.
I suppose you COULD make a case for Ghost/Liberator/Viking but that gets wrecked so fast by storm if you aren't careful.

Or maybe he doesn't respect aLive and thought he'd just outright win there.
Why is an early pressure play a sign of low confidence?
Because why would you risk a BO disadvantage (or loss) if you can just play standard and beat someone straight up? And why would you reveal an aggressive build vs a player who isn't a favorite? I'd save it for tougher matches.
Boy am I glad I prefer to play Mech vs Zerg. I see this kind of Nydus usage along with the typical Ling/Bane/Muta stuff and I wonder to myself how any Terran beats that with Bio.
I know aLive is nowhere near close to Rogue's level but that looked fucking hopeless lol.

Maybe there was some new intricacy that he revealed, but early pool is hardly a revelation. And maybe he feels safer doing it against a worse player and putting future Terran opponents on their toes that he does this stuff... and then just macroing against them?
Also, you say risking a BO loss: maybe he thinks it doesn't matter to go 1-0 down vs aLive as he can easily pull that back in macro games. I just don't see how you can conclude anything about rogue's mindset from a single early pressure build.

They must suffer for the sake of the race. Early stim plus EMP buff so juicy
oh yeah that is quite the community update isn't it
People are putting way too much stock in it. Blizzard even said these were their more "controversial" options, meaning they have tamer changes sitting on the backburner.
The stim change in particular I highly doubt will go through. Does anyone REALLY care if we nerf Infested Terrans, buff Interceptors slightly and nerf recall again?

You're right, by that logic we need to nerf Zerg so Serral will actually lose once in a while.

I don't know, Rogue doesn't exactly look on point in this game.

PartinG was 3 base vs 3 base and up on workers vs Rogue, and walked with his his entry immortal army into a concave of maxed roach ravager while the Zerg had no other tech.

Lmao, I can see parting doing just that, but I guess he will still advance on the back of his pvt?
Rogue still flattering to deceive, honestly I'm not even sure he's one of the top 3 Zergs in Korea at the moment. He's going to have to do a hell of a lit more before he loses the patchzerg title.

Probably, but I'm personally hoping for aLive now. His games at least don't make me cringe.
Did Artosis watch different matches? I saw Parting with a lucky adept killing the drone lynchpin of the allin, and then 2 clown fiestas that ended with Parting throwing away big leads and just losing it due to senseless aggression.
Sure, his PvT did look on-point, so whoever comes out of the loser bracket is in trouble, but his PvZ was sad.

But aLive's games are the definition of cringe
They are overall mediocre, but don't shift between great, good and absolutely fucking awful in a span of 6 minutes.

Granted, it was because PartinG after throwing 2 games vs Rogue, felt it wasn't enough and had to fly his all-in warp prisms into marines to make a trifecta of throws. But still happy for Juanito
