It's always good to push out with pure marines without combat shields when you don't know if the Protoss has colossi. As Starcraft 2 players we should always tell ourselves "Oh what could possibly go wrong? YOLO"

Thats about the only funny thing about them. Terrible unit that allows P to win with absolute no micro with ease.

Why not try to make it work? Don't see the issue tbh, units which are iconic for starcraft should be playable in starcraft

how can you make such a unit work without making it completly amove though, it'd need a major redesign

I have no problem with them being played from time to time. but when carrier turtle becomes one of the best ways to play the game there's a problem.

no, every unit should be playable in some situations, and that's always been the case with carriers. I don't see a way to make them actually a good unit for the game, they're possibly the most a-move and mindless unit in Starcraft

I thought carriers actually have decent micro potential with the interceptor AI changes But it is probably just because that when you actually have the critical number of carriers micro them is not really important

i thought we were talking micro wise
when you went SH's, you had to also make queen/viper/corruptor/infestor
and also, there's much more to the game than micro, carriers are just very basic in every fundamental part of Starcraft - basic macro, basic micro, basic positioning, basic composition

Snute's mistake was therefore that he didn't neural a probe to tech to his own carriers.
Probably the only way you can win as zerg
back in the SH era I played a game against a zerg who neuraled my scv and teched up to mass raven himself -then he lost horribly because he had no experience how to play with mass raven.

Something to that effect. Although I saw other Koreans use that build long before I ever saw Polt do it.
Yeah, but Polt did it every TvP and it is very specific: 2-1-1 into 3 Medivacs at Protoss' 3rd and then Fusion Core + 2nd Starport immediately after the 5th and 6th Refineries; turtle to 6-8 Liberators and then kill the Protoss 4th, while getting 4th CC and armoury upgrades
I didn't know other Koreans did it though, but I think it might be fair to say polt popularised his version, although nobody used it in kr lol

that wasn't 2-1-1, it's a more popular 1-1-1 8 marine drop into 3 WM drop opening

you send your lings around to try and stop the scv building the cc at the natural I think. But it doesnt work on that map so idk...
hence my question
you dont need to make 6 lings for the first reaper + speed finishes faster (kr zergs make 19 drones before the queen and pair of lings also rather than 18 when euro zergs open pool first).
also yes incase they go 3rax or proxy reapers its much better

undeserving of that rank, he disappeared. doesn't even cheer for innovation. probably watches overwatch or something
Major was never losing this game, Showtime was just delaying the inevetable push/aggression that would kill him. And because he has such great control he could do it for a long time.
Major had 22 SCVs on the fourth - Terran will never lose that.

This is actually what happens when you research Caduceus Reactor. It's been in the game since the beginning of LotV, but no one has noticed yet.
It's not Caduceus Reactor anymore, it's High Capacity Fuel Tanks. I've seen it used in exactly one professional game in its entire existence I think. It's really cool but way too niche

That's like once more time than Apial Sensor was used in all of BW.

And to this day I remain convinced TY got the upgrade by accident but then just ran with it and it won him the game.

If Blizzard would just increase the cost of banshee cloak back to 200/200 like in WoL we'd see it more due to players forgetting to cancel while going for those fake-banshee-cloak builds.

korea won the global finals. shitty troll is shitty ;P
Global finals aren't a WCS event. But it still doesn't work since TRUE won WCS Montreal.
yeah i forgot about the koreigners, but the global finals are a WCS event. they're called WCS global finals :D (http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2016_WCS_Global_Playoffs_and_Finals)

I'd argue that the key criterion for being a WCS event is giving WCS points, and the global finals do not give WCS points. Not that it matters.

kinda hard to argue that the !!! WCS !!! global finals arent a WCS event. its the final event of the WCS circuit, so you earn points in the other events to get there. i dont even know why someone would argue against that when its literally in the name lol
