Right before  Starcraft League gets going, Douyu TV has assembled its best SC streamers to present a special edition of showmatches. For those who will be in Shanghai, you may follow the instruction in the Chinese post. For those who want to watch online, you can go to the stream of either Xiaose (http://www.douyutv.com/3484) or  Cloudy (http://www.douyutv.com/6166). For those who are not familiar with Douyu yet, this guide will be helpful.
However, this tournment will have LOSERS advance, that is, we will now have a chance determine who is the chickenest Chinese player after 7 simple Best of 1. What can be more exciting to see the birth of King of Chicken in China? Bring on your friends at 8pm (GMT+8) China Time!

This looks awesome. The player description in the original page are pretty funny too. Too bad my Chinese scene knowledge is too little to do a translation that gives it justice.

I thought Donald Trump had sponsored a contest to see which Chinese guy looked the most like a chicken when I read the title. That is something I'd watch. This is far less exciting.

Guys "chicken" in Chinese internet slang means noob or really really bad player.

In Chinese, the word "chicken 鸡" can also mean noob, bad, weak, terrible and stupid. The "winner" of this tournament (actually the loser of the final) will be granted the title "the king of chicken", which means "the worst sc2 player". He also has to announce in public “I am just a chicken.", which means "I am a weak noob player."

They don't want to lose this tournament as it crowns the worst player. So they have motivation to win and not "continue."

I did this once with a group of friends to find out who the worst Smash players was. It was double-elim where winning sent you to the winner's bracket, and winning in the winner's bracket eliminated you. Everybody indeed tried their hardest to win because there was a lot of shame on the line.
