Are you kidding? He's been playing amazingly lately.
Ever since he figured out how unit interactions work in SC2 (and hard-counters) he's absolutely flourished.
He was brilliant in regards to strategy and it absolutely shows now.

Actually Stork scouted it with the last hallucination, didn't he? He saw a small building there warping in, but it was for a brief. Otherwise sOs denied scouting really well

At one point Stork had 2 Hallucinated Phoenixes flying into sOs's base from two different directions, every 15 seconds. It was that crazy. Stork did end up reacting too late even though he had the Dark Shrine more than scouted.

actually, the first time Stork didn't know it was the DT Shrine, the hallucination saw the DT warp "ball" at the last moment but there was no way that Stork could have clicked on it to confirm, for all he knew, that could have just been another Pylon.

No, Stork scouted just the wapr ball and then the hallucination died. He scouted that late and he didn't reacted properly on the top of it, since he thought DTs won't come with warp prism.
He scouted the Shrine with the last hallucination.

The demise of the much hated swarmhost, as certainly reduced Zergs options hasnt it. That plus the thor buff has really pigeon holed Zerg into limited options

Talk about player history, recent race matchups, map design, etc - anything interesting yet insightful. And no, BW history (as much as I love and follow it) is not relevant here nor funny.

I mean back then the game was at least a little interesting with the moves players tried or did. But this looks like Protoss deathball move. And protoss has at least to use some skills you can see. But this is a-move. I find this really bad to watch.

You mean like every time the map is played you will hear about it's design? Can you imagine how it would look with overgrowth seasons?! Player history is shown on screen at the beginning. I have different expectations from football where they fill the gaps with funny stories all the 90 minutes

Okay, I won't argue semantics but i will say this.
I want the casters to talk more about the game to help SC2 viewership. How? Well I have a lot of gamer friends. I want to introduce them to watch competitive SC2. Some have even played WoL before. But when they watch the games now, they lose interest. Why? They can't keep up with the meta. The casters aren't helpful. I can fill them in the details, but I'm not as good as the casters and well, I can't be around my friends all the time. And so they give up. And that's sad.
(And these are the same friends who would watch old BW games because the Korean casters and subtitles helped them follow the meta and games)

Well, that's sOs in a nutshell. If you wanna learn to play Protoss - go with Rain. If you wanna see fun, sOs(where he wins) or Parting. sOs does things that are so insane and works just because he's so high in the ladder and because he understands the game on a different level than others. he's bending the spoon(into a fork with wheels and gun), basically

I think some things he does really explains a lot about the game. He finds weaknesses like few others can
sOs is the kind of player that would cheat on his girlfriend with your girlfriend, then pickpocket money out of her purse, then call you up; hey buddy, wanna go have a beer, you are buying friend

I don't mind Nani's behavior that much I must say. Rather have him improve on it though, don't get me wrong.

Fair enough, I just didn't know if anything had been confirmed over night or what.
I know I'm late to the party, but I really like how tastosis is casting this game. That's what I would expect, explaining the situation of the players and what's going on. This would help watchers (who do not know the game well) understand what's going on, which player is ahead etc.
Compare that to the first Life games where they completely ignored the game for the first half of each game to talk about random stuff.

Did you see Nani's reactions after his recent loss in WCS? Complaining about everything, everyone, telling, he has lost because of randomness as PvP is a bad matchup, which is always won by the lucky one. And then, he tweeted:

In Poland will be the final of WCS 3rd season. And TLO tweeted to him: Dario Wünsch @LiquidTLO Jul 27 @NaNiwaSC2 You're an idiot.

So what do you guys think. Marauders are actually more expensive than hellions even though hellions are cars and marauders are just dudes in a combat suite. Is the 100 minerals for a hellion just the car insurance? So you actually just loose 100 minerals for insurance and not the value of the car?

It will probably be dirt cheap with a million planets to harvest it from tho Water is probably more expensive for Terrans.

This would explain why hellion, as a mech unit that attack with something like a flamethrower, does not cost gas ><

Such mindless balance whine. He made bbyong get an absurd amount of bases without threatening any of those. Heck, he even had one in his half of the map close to two of his expansions lol. Life didn't play well and Bbyong did, end of the story.

His engagements would have been surely efficient enough if he didn't just forget to scout the map for undefendable terran bases. It was cool AND effective but BByong had too much economy for no reason.
Not to suggest that mech isn't too strong in TvZ, but Life didn't exactly do much that game to threaten Bbyong. If you're not going to beat mech in super late game, surely you should try to win the game earlier on? Overlord drops in the main to kill production, split pushes, etc....

This is hilarious from someone who called flying locust the death of mech.
It is. ask avilo he massively complained about them on stream. He had a game he had won but still had to play an hour more because the zerg just ran around with SHs and spawned locusts because no terran unit can catch them.

He don't know how to play vs mech(ironically he has Flash in team). Just accept it and do all ins, the same way Protoss were all ining Zerg players in WoL.
Well, MECH in the hands of a Korean top Terran vs Korean top Zerg is unbeatable IF : the Zerg attacks head on into chockes , doesn't move all those static defence to newly created hatcheries , doesn't starve the Terran out, doesn't put pressure early on.

To be fair i think Life tried to attack with roach/ling in G3 but with 3 tanks in the natural behind a wall there is like 0 chance for that to work. That's why tried to go for the macro. I wish he had thought about something extreme like a nydus in the main and then hit the third or something

I just watched that Dark game yesterday. He was alllowed to macro up to mass queen/ultra before Bravo even thought about attacking. Still though, SKT zergs do seem to know what they're doing vs Mech a lot more than KT

Yeah but the locusts landing on a target will ensure that siege tanks help to kill the landing targets of the locusts. So my point was that SH are more effective when siege tanks are around vs when they are not But yeah, they get shot out of the air anyway :/

There was a time when Flash looked unstoppable with thor hellbat bio vs Z for about 2 months before it got figured out, now that composition is laughed at. Life didn't figure out how to counter mass banshee mech comps in under 4 hours. Bbyong made alot of composition switches and managed to dictate the tempo of the game in the two series today, doesn't mean mech is unstoppable. I'm sure some coaches are looking at the replays and vods and realizing all the timings Life could have hit. Bbyong's mech was also almost entirely different from Innovation's mech, minimal turrets, mass thor, mass banshees vs no banshees, less tanks. Just because they made roughly the same units doesn't mean it's just one generic blob build. I would even go as far as to say Life's composition may have worked better vs Innovation's composition but got hit by something different.

I don't know that many zergs strong vs mech tbh. It's not like it's some magic skt power Impact was always strong vs mech even before joining skt Soulkey would be good vs it if he wasn't on break at the moment. I know rogue plays like shit vs it too. Is Buyl any good vs it?
What happened to Soulkey? He used to be my fave Zerg. That sick comeback against Inno.
Is he on a break because of that *ahem* incident with the suspicious betting lines? Sigh, I hope not.
very possible, he also doesn't like SC2
Where exactly is that coming from?
iirc he popped on some BJ's Afreeca stream practicing BW during his last break, but, not happily, decided not to switch back since he didn't play BW well enough

On the not-so-bright side, he'll likely knock out Flash next round (Bbyong can be a real passion-killer)
He is but he apologizes for it. Hard to be mad at him :|
Bbyong reminds me of Supernova or Ryung. Always hanging there in the middle, showing lots of promise and good plays, knocking out top players convincingly and having a generally likable drama-free personality. But never quite having enough fuel left for the last mile.

There were minimal turrets cause there were only 7 mutas in 5 games. Good mech reacts to what zerg does to a large extent after Life attacked bbyond with roach on coda he started building thors asap because almost any zerg will add some mutas there Life didn't so bbyong cut thor production and just massed tank banshee thor.
This isn't some new style bbyong is pulling out of his ass he has played it for a very long time (it just used to have ravens too cause sh) Life has died to this before he knows what bbyong was gonna play he had the time to prepare but did so poorly so he lost. Aside from Echo being an imba mech map he should have never lost the game on cactus. After bbyong was so slowed down rather than capitalizing on it Life just played for the super late game and let bbyong max. He could have allined or played the standard style of muta -> RHV -> Ultra queen infestor while pumping double air upgrades -> corruptor sweep -> ultra queen infestor or mutas.
He didn't deny bases well and let bbyong get away with a double hidden expo.
Bbyong and Life are very alike both like to play agressive both play their own unique style and both use builds that look awesome when they work and shit when they backfire.

Does anyone honestly believe that Bbyong is a top 5 Terran?
It's pretty hard to name a top 5 terran list atm. There is Innovation and then?
This is more true
I think Maru is still pretty good and should be considered top 2
I agree. There's bogus and Maru. Dream has fallen off pretty hard recently.
Yep, Dream would have been another terran easily top 5 material, but not sure anymore. But who is there atm? Really hard to say tbh :D
Same for Zerg though
I think zerg is easier. There's soO, rogue, byul, dark and life.
Hah! Now that you say it i have to agree tbh, but I would put Curious in the top 5 and remove Life
I'd still put Life above curious. I'm not convinced that curious current form is something that will last. I also think the only reason life got knocked out was because he faced bbyong in the first match. I think he beats every other person in this group. It was an odd situation where Life couldn't beat bbyong and bbyong couldn't beat sos, so life had the misfortune of playing bbyong twice. If it was sos vs life and bbyong vs stork in the first match, I think life would come out in second by beating sos twice.

As i said in the Week 4 lineups thread i think Life has around 50% winrate (a little less actually) in the "form" column of aligulac (i am not sure what timeframe that covers though, aligulac is down for me atm too -.-) I don't think this is good enough to be considered a top 5 zerg tbh, i also don't think Life would have beaten sOs, at least not necessarily. Stork simply isn't that good. Curious' gameplay looks pretty good atm on the other hand, so i absolutely think you have to put him in the top 5 :D

I'd wait until Fantasy does more in Korea before rating him so highly, but other than that I agree with swag_bro for once. Also wtf is up with the starleagues? Maru/Dream/Life out of SSL Life/Dream out of GSL, this is madness

I will give you that, about Fantasy... but its definitely not this Bbyong kid.
And those players are out of those tournaments because they are in slumps. When players are in slumps, they lose to vastly inferior opponents like Bbyong because they make mistakes. Probably tired or something to add.
And I think the college entrance exams are coming up in Korea, so that explains Life's losses recently. He is studying.

Life did beat sOs in SSL recently. Point is looking at Aligulac Bbyong is essentially a hard counter to Life for some reason, not to mention the strength of mech vs zerg right now and how Bbyong is already a terran predisposed to go mech. I'd give specific stats but atm aligulac is broken
Seems like Bbyong (or mech in general) is still a huge problem for Life. I caught some glimpses of the games, I don't get why he was so adamant making hydras was the right choice vs BCs.

to be fair the only unit that's decent against BCs is horrible against everything else in the entire game

Mech is a problem for every zerg on the planet. And as mentioned earlier hydras are the best bet because the only other good option is corruptors, which you REALLY don't want if you can help it

Hydras do less damage than corruptors vs armored targets get hit by tanks don't have 5 armor 200 hp and cost the same supply. 3/3 corruptors/queen has always been the best zerg anti air. Dunno why Life is using hydras. Mech is a problem sure but Life has a lot more trouble with it than most. soO/Dark seem very comfortable playing against it.

Again, I KNOW corruptors are better against BCs than hydras. But hydras are better than corruptors at virtually everything else, making the decision to make corruptors not something that you want to do. And yes hydras get hit by sieged tanks, but they also HIT said sieged tanks.
