I also still think they should have waited another week. If for example Stats gets through one of these qualifiers but also is top 2 SPL, then they have to choose the next best player. But what if that's a tie? And so forth.

Well there has to be a reason TerrOr gets chance after chance in SPL. I reckon it's because he does well in practice and online? :S

Probably a no-show/forfeit.

Torturing him.

"I TOLD YOU NOT TO GO FULL BOMBER, BUT YOU DIDN'T LISTEN!" *smack*
"I TOLD YOU HE WOULD PROXY, BUT YOU DIDN'T LISTEN!" *smack*
"I TOLD YOU WHERE TO PUT YOUR BUNKERS, BUT YOU DIDN'T LISTEN!" *smack*
Since when was smacking a viable build against the emotionless Machine? Oov's probably smacking the coach responsible for Inno's battle algorithm.
Plot twist, INno is actually a cyborg, feeling pain and emotions.
Maybe INno is the maru that doesn't care and Maru's the emotionless machine all along. I should've noticed that Maru can only smile, but that's it. This is a shameful display as a certified SCII detective like myself!

Sorry for that tweet btw. I was just really frustrated Prime players didn't even bother to check the maps..
Nothing against you
Of course I was not offended. My tweet was too mean. Shoutcraft is kind of just a fun side event I wouldn't have sent something that mean about PL or GSL (probably).

Well the one from today doesn't count, way too late, the other 3 are the same exact stuff, so only one was not closed so it's effectively only one thread.
They should send emails to every pro team, tag pros on twitter/facebook and advertise this on reddit multiple times on the weeks/days leading up to the qualifers. You can't tell me you think this was well marketed.

it's when you win the game but they refuse to gg out so you gg yourself and then win the next map and beat them 3-0

It wasn't as well marketed as it should/could have been, but there is no excuse for an org like TL to have Snute have no clue it was today. I browse TL once per day (when not hanging out in a tourney LR) and I knew the date and time of this qualifier.

and I thought it was teams job to ask for more information... don't they have manager, etc? :x it's not just a major tournament, it's a Kespa cup with wcs points, you would think that more players would try to be kept informed on that
I don't think ESL send a email to everyone to tell them "hey hey, WCS S2 qualifier start tomorrow, don't forget", but maybe i'm wrong

Yeah poorly managed on both sides imo. At the end of the day it's just unfortunate that it denied some players this opportunity. Tbh any EU players qualifying out of this would have done so thanks to KR to EU lag though

Well WCS and IEM etc are way more out there and people know that they have to watch out for them. For new tournaments or a tournament that is holding an EU/NA qualifer for the first time, a little bit more effort at the start is a given. Just as Gfinity too.

Meh, he's got 2 more qualifiers to try.
Korea and NA qualifiers likely to be more difficult. He's come up just short in GSL qualifiers 4 (at least, think it's 5) times in a row now as well. Not too optimistic.
I like how terminator gets through so many qualifiers. He's almost like a wol San to me. Qualifies for a lot of stuff but rarely wins matches once he's in the main tournament

They are former teammates so fantasy should know how to counter rain's very defensive marco oriented style.

I didn't see the Dear and Raggy games but it sounds like he's in form. He beat a good slew of people to get here and took down sOs (so that means he better be in form or i'll be mad). Or maybe Raggy is turning on god mode this season, who knows?

Rogue ByuL Cure or Dark are all at 10. Cure is the only one not guaranteed to play since he's slotted 4th but all 4 are in their teams' lineup
Hmm ok thanks. I think that Rogue and Dark are pretty much guaranteed to win, while it is closer to 50/50 for Cure and ByuL. So yeah we can hope to see a second Zerg besides Life, it's nice.
I think it's less race balance and more just protoss players showing up. MyuNgSiK 2-0'd Rogue and LosirA, Miso killed Polt somehow, Dear killed Flash, sKyHigh got teamkill'd, Trust 2-1'd TY and Cure, Bbyong lost to Rain, INno lost to Stats. None of these results are really big upsets (aside from Trust, but since he got multiple wins it's easier to point that to him overperforming than protoss being OP), they're just protosses beating out terrans/zergs of their skill level. It's rough sometimes, but that's how the game works.

It says top 2 players of round 2, doesn't specify whether this means r1 + r2 or r2 only, but given how they did the SSL seeds, I would assume it means r2 only. In which case, top 10:
Depending on who gets out of the Korean brackets, this opens up opportunities for the lower players to get a seed. E.g. if ByuL, Rogue and someone else get through the qualifier, Flash or Cure could still get in the top 2 by winning their games and Losira/soO/sOs losing their SPL games.

Oops yeah you're right. So most likely two more Zergs, yay

The exact same thing happened in the S2SL qualifiers:
I love Flash, but having to go through (probably) Hurricane, Cure, Dark, Classic/Rogue, and finally whoever comes from upper half of that bracket (Rain?). Given how he's been playing lately I'm not holding my breath here. But would at least hope he shows something and gets past Hurricane and Cure. Given his recent TvZ, have zero belief in him beating any half-decent zergs, oh me of little faith. God, I am sorry I doubt you so.
And really curious how Taeja, Impact, and Bomber do. Especially Taeja, he hasn't looked the same since coming back to KR

Pretty much. Qualifiers : FanTaSy, jjakji, TY lost to TvT. sKyHigh traded unfortunately with Symbol. GuMi lost to Soulkey/Dark (both around his skill level if not slightly better). MarineKing sucked, Heart lost to herO. MMA lost to Trap/Creator (both around his skill level if not better). Bunny and KeeN lost to TvT. Challenger : Every terran got a rough opponent and none of them played well. Well, I didn't watch Flash's games, but the other 3 all played pretty bad, honestly. It's just that terrans haven't been playing too well recently, outside of Maru.
I was so happy for this and there is no stream except that Korean where you have to install something but I am at work and I don't have admin permission so blah......

Revival's career will.always be revived in my heart. I hope BrAvO will qualify btw, the kid's got skill.
I like Bravo aswell, but I'd rather ByuL or INno qualify from this bracket. INno because he kinda needs it at this point and ByuL so Flash has a better shot in SPL if he doesn't get through his shitty bracket <.<

Korean casters are so hyped for SC2~~
I watched a ridiculous amount of Korean-casted Brood War, I kinda miss that cuz I never do this with SC2 these days. their passion and energy almost completely makes up for the fact you can't understand much.
I'm the same way with the Proleague trio. I'm okay with them for the most part, especially Moonglade, but sometimes they bug the shit out of me with the way they over-simplify why X player lost to Y player, and then sometimes they (kinda disrespectfully imo) slag off and mock the losing player super hard. Other casters do it at times as well, but for some reason it bothers me a lot more with the Proleague guys. I dunno sometimes it feels like their "analysis" is too obvious... but anyway, I digress.

Because there are better players on their roster
Do you honestly think Ian is significantly worse than, say, Daisy or Pet? I mean, at -minimum- it's worth giving him a try. Not like they have anything to lose.

He's definitely worse than Pet, but yeah I think I'd field him over daisy. At worst he gets proxy-gated, at beast we can make a fun of the Korean who loses to him.

Pet? Yes. Daisy, dunno, have only seen him once. But probably yes. And since they're in need of a sponsor, they'd probably want their best players playing.
The one game I've seen from Daisy was against Zest btw. I'll give any protoss the benefit of the doubt after losing to Zest.

Because there are better players on their roster
Do you honestly think Ian is significantly worse than, say, Daisy or Pet? I mean, at -minimum- it's worth giving him a try. Not like they have anything to lose.
Pet? Yes. Daisy, dunno, have only seen him once. But probably yes. And since they're in need of a sponsor, they'd probably want their best players playing.
The one game I've seen from Daisy was against Zest btw. I'll give any protoss the benefit of the doubt after losing to Zest.

I really wanna see Ian vs Dark. Might be interesting.
I mean at least Dark can't proxy gate or proxy rax him, so why not

If you can't consider Flash, INno, etc. good, then we can't really consider Dream good either. Dream hasn't really done much since getting rekt by Maru, aside from getting rekt by $O$ and not completely sucking vs SuNo. Dream vs Life is legitimately the only reason why he's considered a top terran.

Polt reached 4.3/5 Dreams in splitting in the WCS Finals against Hydra, tho.
But that opens up a whole new set of questions like if WCS players can be considered good.
I don't think you can be considered good in a global sense based on WCS standings alone. WCS is basically equal to a low-mid tier foreign tournament. Does it help you be good if you have some other big result? Yup. Does it single-handedly make you a good player? I don't think so.

NSSL finals was really broken down into having good TvP, great TvZ and his series vs Life. His PL performance has been pretty good, and his GSL performance was pretty bluh. I think he'd still be considered pretty good - definitely 2nd best terran right now - but I don't think he's really a top player right now.
I don't hate him or anything. I do think he's a good player, I just don't think that he's really proven himself as anything since his series vs Life.

Dream deserves to be talked about as a truly elite Terran at the moment, although you have to wonder if he can keep the form up he's had since the start of 2015. Maru, for me, has been a class above the rest for a long, long time now.

We have barely seen him recently and I think you are being waaay to harsh. Having 2 excellent mu is enough to considered a top player. Look at Zest at his peak or MMA at his.

I wouldn't call his TvP excellent, I'd only consider his TvZ (and even then it's far from super consistent - look at his death to Rogue in GSL) truly excellent. But yeah I might be being too harsh. He's definitely the #2 terran right now, I'm just a bit lukewarm on him as a whole.

His match up prep is insane. One saw he hadnt practiced TvZ in that series vs rogue cause we went on to slay Rain and Super in incredibly one sided series. Maru is far and away #1 terran right now but I think Dream is definetly a solid #2 it's really just his TvT holding him back imo

I can agree with that! I guess I'm a bit salty since him losing to sOs cost me like 8 FPL points (maybe more if Maru won ace)

Seed is evil. Steals peoples souls so they throw. Deliver a terrible finals. Then sucks.
And now he plays for Choya
To be fair though, Seed was one of the biggest ballers in his prime. Be down 0-2 to Symbol in a BL/infestor era when Symbol was probably THE best BL/infestor zerg. Throw a manner nexus in Symbol's face in game 3 when you're ahead. Win the series 3-2.

Flash, Dark, Cure, Classic, Rogue, Trap and Rain in the same bracket. Meanwhile in bracket 1, YoDa only had to play 2 series to get to the Ro4. I call shenanigans.

I doubt he'll be in ByuL's way for long. Unless he plays mech. Huehuehue.
Bbyong vs soO in Bracket 2 semifinal. would love to watch that one. Bbyong always feels like one of the more under-appreciated Terrans... dude's got mad skills but just can't seem to pull off a great individual league run, for whatever reason.

Would have been creative if he won, we never see that. Alas it wasn't.
So now it would be nice if ByuL and soO qualified so Flash still has a chance through SPL <.< I guess he could anyway but then he'd have to beat Panic and either every other contender loses or KT vs MVP goes to ace and he wins in that, too.

Not Really, he would have to go up against Rain who he hasn't beaten in a long time, and it doesn't matter with slump cuz about less than a month ago there was a mYi vs Yoe Flash Wolves Show match Rain 2-0'd Leenock, so not really perfect

Panic plays Flash, it's the showdown that might decide the SPL spot <.< Nah, probably not. The most important one for that will be herO vs sOs. If sOs wins he's at 5 wins which only 2 players can reach without ace matches :S

Theoretically. If he wins vs Panic and none of Losira, sOs and Cure get a win this week in SPL for one. Also, if Flash wins his first match on Tuesday and then plays in and wins an ace match he's at 5-1 for round 2, which would most likely be enough. So yes, he has a realistic chance if soO and ByuL make it.

Did you confirm whether or not it's overall ranking or just round 2? Or is this all just under the assumption it's round 2 only?

No one understands how PL grading works. For some reason Life is MVP over a bunch of guys with better records?

Can't confirm, it's under the assumption that KeSPA does it the way they did with SSL which was one round only.

But under the assumption that it's overall:
Cure (10-5) Dark (10-5, only if he loses now) Losira (9-4) INnoVation (8-3) sOs (8-8) soO (7-4) Bbyong (7-6)

It happens constantly. Like Bbyong beating life and herO beating curious, but herO somehow getting the mvp.

I don't care. Life was easily startale's best and most dangerous player.
Innovations won't be at Kespa Cup he isn't playing this week in proleague. So the players invited should be Cure/Dark since Trap is gonna 2-1 Dark :D!!!

Can't believe SKT didn't play him. Even in his current form he's still probably stronger than Dream and Classic overall.

Dream is arguable. I'm pretty sure dream has better TvZ overall.

Too bad for SoO, but oh well...
If they're using Round 2 stats for Proleague and not stats for both rounds, soO will play at KeSPA Cup anyway.
They showed a graphic during the stream that said Round 1, 2; so we're currently working under the assumption it's both rounds combined and that they'll invite Cure and probably Losira. Although I'd prefer if it was round 2 only :S

Ah, okay. Rogue/Cure will go then, why not. At least, something for Cure this season.

Case in point: if round 1 counts aswell Flash has no chance, if it's only round 2 he has a pretty decent chance depending on what the other "top players" do next week (Flash wins, KT 3-0s MVP, sOs and soO lose --> Flash in top 2; Flash wins 2 games on Tuesday might be another way aswell). But currently it seems round 1 counts. RIP Flash fans.
But to be frank, we shouldn't beat ourselves up over this. Flash had a ludicrously difficult bracket. To qualify, he would have had to beat, in order, Hurricane, Cure, Dark, Classic and Trap. Getting out of that bracket was extremely difficult and he didn't get completely rekt. So there's always next time.

Yeah, most likely (unless one of them gets overtaken by Losira). Unless they decide to only count round 2 as a loophole to get Flash in if his wins would allow it.

Well, if the SPL seeds end up being Rogue and Losira, it's 7 Protoss, 6 Zergs and 3 Terrans. I don't think I can agree with your statement . They should make those pity seeds to balance the race ratio and give them to 2 Terrans on purpose <.<.

I dont see rogue losing against hush. So the only way for Cure to qualify is by the defiting Bbyong. Innovation not being field was a blow for him.

While I think Rogue is not likely to lose, I would also not rule it out completely. herO and ByuL probably have some good tips on how to defeat a Zerg like Rogue.
And Innovation keeps on losing. But he won't retired. There are still so many Terrans worse than him that are still active. I can't see him retiring any time soon. Although since he has a shaky mindset that basically quits when he's on tilt, he may very well retire as soon as 3 months later.
