He's not a patchtoss, but his position as a top-tier Protoss and player is rapidly dropping and a loss to Hydra would be the tipping point given the prestige of the event. Zest should bring his A-game So did I. Nobody in their right mind would think Zest is a patchtoss (it can even be disproven on a factual basis). If he brings his A game though, he's the only player on his side of the bracket who I definitely see beating herO <.< (Life & INno are more like even matches for herO, not sure about Bbyong as they are teammates). Well, since the last patch, Zest had some really good placements in tournaments, but, In all those tournaments he placed highly in, he didn't fight many terrans. He beat YoDa (3-0), Polt (2-1) and Bunny (2-0). If we discount IEM Toronto, the only terran he beat was skyhigh, in a best of 1. He lost all other matches against Terrans. However, He is still doing ok-ish. vs Z though. He should beat Hydra if he brings his A-game. If he faces Innovation in the ro.8, he's out. If Life, still out. PvT has always been his worst, yeah, so even on his A-game INnoVation would kick Zest straight out. Against Life he has a very small chance of making it, but it's Life, so meh. Zest will very likely drop out in the Ro8. And even if he reached the Grand Finals, which is very unlikely, half of the other bracket consists of Terrans. Really really easy predictions here:
(T)FanTaSy 0-3 (P)Rain: What can I say? Fantasy, although a God, is absolutely nothing compared to Rain in SC2. Not even close. This will be a blowout and Rain will simply play three straight up macro games and easily win. Rain will just prove to everyone why he is superior to Fantasy. If Fantasy takes a game or two, it will be some mine drop or something.
(P)Zest 3-0 (Z)Hydra: A slumping GSL champion is still better than someone who ditched his own team and country to go play elsewhere. Zest is angry at Hydra for leaving and he, his team and his country will want nothing less than a 3-0 revenge. Zest will prove that people who not only ditch his country but his team will suffer a fate that is worse than losing in the GSL.
(T)Innovation 2-3 (Z)Life: Yes, finally a close game. Life is a better player than Innovation by a long shot. Typical Life will make some mistakes a falter a little bit in series, but overall, he is a better player than Innovation by a long shot. Innovation is in a huge slump right now. He lost in badly in Proleague and has proven that he is an inferior player to Life.
(Z)Dark 3-0 (T)TaeJa: Taeja is definitely not in form right now. He lost in GSL/NSL and has not been active in the tournament scene. He may very well surprise everyone, but I don't think so. Dark is really good right now. Sure he may be slumping since he lost to a slumping Maru, but he should still be better than a slumping Taeja. Who knows though, Taeja's wrists may be good enough to win, but I don't really see this happening.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can Fantasy pull some tricks out of his bag and do some fancy micro to beat Rain? Can Hydra show Zest that even ditching your own team and country can make you a better player and win? Can Innovation recover from his slump for even a few days just to beat Life? Has Taeja's wrists recovered enough for him to even stand a change against Dark? We will see at the Intel Extreme Master World Championship Round of 16.

By "played like shit" you mean "had trouble with the matchup", just like every other protoss did for a while, right? You know that kind of thing happens if you get massively nerfed, maps are massively changed in favor of the other race and a widow mine buff removes about half your viable playstyles.

Zest should bring his A-game So did I. Nobody in their right mind would think Zest is a patchtoss (it can even be disproven on a factual basis). And I really want Zest to do well, so I hope he prepared well, he had quite a bit of time. LOL, just saying, Zest has a winning record against INnovation: http://aligulac.com/results/search/?search=&after=&before=&players=Zest 1658 INnoVation 48&event=&bestof=all&offline=both&game=all&op= The last game was 9 months ago, things have changed since then. INnoVation has only dropped a single map against a Protoss this year so far.

Zest, even on his A-game, is weak against Terrans, compared to his other MUs at any rate. He's certainly no PartinG or herO in PvT. He isn't far behind them in PvT when he's at his best. People like to exaggerate. "Hi I'm Cure, the guy who will win this tournament, did I tell you about this one time I played Zest in the GSL?"

Olli is just unhappy that Zest isn't even in the top half of the power rank for this tournament
