He might just have hit a slump. It happens to the best of players but he was wayyyyyy too good last year for me to write him off just because of that. Give the man some time to sort his shit out

If he brings his A game though, he's the only player on his side of the bracket who I definitely see beating herO <.< (Life & INno are more like even matches for herO, not sure about Bbyong as they are teammates).

Is there a reason why we didn't get liquibet for this?

I think IEM would deserve it (and more liquibet = more fun) I think it's because liquibets require at least 24 hours to vote for fairness, so it's less suitable for weekend tournaments. I remember it was done for the first two rounds of the WCS Global Finals last year (which were a week apart).

I think IEM would deserve it (and more liquibet = more fun) Afaik a liquibet must be up 24 hours before the match happens or something like that for the system to award points (that's why we got 0 points for Life vs Dream), so it's not applicable to weekend tournaments? edit : sniped !

Yeah sure, but that isn't really an issue a lot of the time either, no? Usually we know the groups way ahead of time (at least in the early rounds). Just like in this case. I guess it's more about the work? I would gladly help if that's the case hehe

Well, since the last patch, Zest had some really good placements in tournaments, but, In all those tournaments he placed highly in, he didn't fight many terrans. He beat YoDa (3-0), Polt (2-1) and Bunny (2-0). If we discount IEM Toronto, the only terran he beat was skyhigh, in a best of 1. He lost all other matches against Terrans.
However, He is still doing ok-ish. vs Z though. He should beat Hydra if he brings his A-game. If he faces Innovation in the ro.8, he's out. If Life, still out.

Zest will very likely drop out in the Ro8. And even if he reached the Grand Finals, which is very unlikely, half of the other bracket consists of Terrans.

JAGW darkhorse best darkhorse) The last IEM had Life vs. Maru, it was a very good finals... But I can see where you are coming from. Some would probably say that that last game between Life and Maru didn't live to the hype, given that Maru failed his wall miserably d: edit : well honestly I'm no PvP überfan but herO vs sOs was very exciting in a strange way. It wasn't great macro games like most StarCraft fans are happy to see, but it was a psychological dismemberment that was pretty unique and interesting to see. It's just that I was hyped all day for seeing the (at the time) two best protosses fight each other in a best-of-7, that I was very disappointed. When it comes to psychological dismemberment, I prefer to think of Jaedong vs. sOs. It was that, but also had some great macro-games.

Probably the short time between th rounds; Most LB's are up for a few days before the match and this isn't possible, when there are matches dependent on results a day earlier. I guess you could have LB up just for the first round, but that would be a bit weird as well.
