Only player I know to have 2v2 experience among the lineup is Heart, who was part of the Axiom 2v2 crew during SHOUTCraft Clan Wars. I expect the Heart/Crank team, the Impact/Ryung team, and the Symbol/Supernova team to take Top 3.

Rifkin, I'd like to make things a little interesting, let me know what you think: I donate $10 to go straight to the player who delivers the best trash-talking one-liner in game (similar to Golden's "sup son"). It would have to be good-spirited and typed in English, as chosen by the casters at the end (or straw-polled from the chat, but I bet that's harder). Hopefully we can post a jpg or gif of it in the TL thread afterwards.
What do you think? If you agree, I'll donate next time I'm in channel. If you think this doesn't work, I'll delete this message and we can all pretend this never happened :D

We couldn't quite fill the 8 team roster we were aiming for (I think we could if this was another week, but with many of my friends & contacts on MVP/Prime they had to decline due to PL) so instead we've opted for a double elimination format with the teams we do have. I think this would be more fun with English players, without someone like James ready & available to translate it'd be difficult to convey

I just realized there aren't any same-race teams. Well, I'm sure they'll still be crazy bullshit even if there isn't double SH wall or marine flooding or PROTOSS.

Wow, that game was pretty much 20 minutes of constant pressure, rush, and counterattacking! It makes me sad that 2v2 maps won't give players the time to keep attack for so long in LotV with the mineral patch change. Maybe 2v2 maps can keep the same mineral count or something.

I feel that gameheart could use a bit of revising for its 2v2 layout. The margins should be smaller, as should the font, and the transparency should be increased. Perhaps some of the data could be condensed in regards to the income portions of the tab and be reserved for switching to a separate income menu at the casters' discretion.

I really didn't like that map, back when me and my partner were more active, and I wasn't terribly pleased with it from a spectator standpoint either. 2v1 rushes and excessive Banshees for days.

Okay, while I wouldn't call that game a shining example of 2v2 splendor, I'm glad I got to see like 4 different things that you will NEVER see in a 1v1. The initial hold with Phoenixes and lings against the Stalker Hellion attack was pretty good though.

These fights are pretty fun to watch. Not sure if that's because of the novelty value but I'm enjoying it!

Usually when I find myself with a glut of minerals in a 2v2, I make spines behind my forward hatchery and don't move them until my partner is ready for a pushback. They kind of just uselessly juggled those extra mins, although an extra couple gateways might've helped if Patience had made them immediately upon being fed.

Thanks for this! Watching the stream. WOuld have been more convenient with youtube or vods where you can skip to a fix game more easily though. Also, why not invite dedicated 2on2 players? Must have been a lot of 2on2 teams that would love to play for this much money, and it is interesting to see how dedicated 2on2 teams do against (often) mechanically better 1on1 players that dont know the strategy.

Thanks for the tournament, watching the vods has been really fun. However, I just wanted to throw my two cents in and suggest not using team colors in the future. Personally, I prefer being able to see whose armies are moving on the map and which player on each team is expanding where ever they're expanding. Instead enforcing similar colors within a team, like blue and teal vs. red and pink could be a good compromise like in this game between Crank&Heart and Patience&True: http://i.imgur.com/1LE0QDt.jpg

I would love it if you could do more tournaments like this.
I think the unexplored meta and potential combinations of units between the different races is really rad, especially with really good/pro players.
I really hope that you get enough support to keep this kind of tournament going because I LOVED it, and I can't be the only one.
