Hello everyone, we are announcing a 32 player $ prize tournament that will be taking place at The Grid Cyber Lounge CA, taking place on September 27th 2014.
The entry fee is 20$.
Peripherals will be provided.
The Grid Cyber Lounge address: 3060 Chino Ave, Chino Hills, CA 91709.
Must register before tournament, please call or register in store.
To sign up call: 909-927-8335
You may also leave your name and character code to sign up.
Check in will begin at 11 AM PST and the tournament will start at 12 PM PST.
Every player is allowed to bring their own peripherals but is not required.
Any bad manner will result in a disqualification from this tournament.

Prize distribution:
1) 40%
2) 30%
3) 20%
4) 10%
This is a double elimination tournament. Finals will be a best of 7.
The prize pool for the tournament will vary depending how many players show up (all of the entrance fee goes towards the prize pool).
We will accept walk ins on the tournament day if the tournament is not full.
The tournament is free to spectate so come own down and watch and have some fun!

The ideal prize distribution is going to be set as is but if we do get a lot less people than expected we will have to drop the prize money down some.

more people that show up bigger the prize pool we announced at 32 player tournament to meet $1000 prize pool but we're letting as many people that sign up play and walk ins are allowed so there's no limit on how many players players go

I am looking forward to the tournament this weekend. I will be there.
I just wanted to remind you all that I am THE McStupid.866, search the original SC2 battle.net forums from some of my old posts there. I'm kinda famous for being one of the most bad mannered and poor sports this game has ever seen, with threats of banning people (it did actually happen to some), and as such, it is kind of an honor for you to all meet me and talk to me and maybe take a photo with me.
But I will try to behave myself at this tournament.
The ranking system has somehow placed me in Gold, despite what I feel is my non-worthy of Gold rank performance. A couple months ago I actually deliberately lost 20 games in a row to try to get knocked from Silver to Bronze because I was losing too much and raging all the time, but then when I did the next season's qualifier game, I got Gold.
Anyhow, see you at the tournament.

Update on the prize pool
Due to some miscommunication with sponsors/etc, the 1000$ prize pool will not be guaranteed. However all of the entrance fee will be put towards the prize pool (meaning prize pool will be 20$ greater per person). We sincerely apologize for this and hope to still see all of you there this Saturday.

Yeah I hope there is still a decent turnout but honestly I don't expect there to be one. The guys from SJ are still driving down but this makes it not even worth it if they win 1st lol....

It's not a total lost cause, those who show up will still get to meet me.
So are the players going to be matched up by their multiplayer leagues? Golds with Golds, Silver / Bronze together, etc?
I'm currently #62 in my Gold league.

I could quite literally pull a pic off the internet. If you need me to go down to the bank and pull the funds out and take a pic I'll do it. I'm bringing $1,000 regardless of how many players show up. If you feel that some rumour is a defining factor in your decision making then that's all on you. Fact is, the lan cafe's reputation is on the line as well, along with their sponsors of Tesoro-tec, RedBull, CyberPower, and GamesterGear. I understand other tournaments dip out last minute. We are not these other tournaments. Like I stated, Quarterly tournaments; $1,000 prize pools guaranteed.

Here's your proof. I even threw in an extra $100 for all the confusion. Total guaranteed prize pool not including entry fee is $1,100. And like I stated at the very beginning of this thread, guaranteed $1000 + entry fee.
Not sure who or how these rumours came to be. But again, it's the internet, and trolls exist.

It's good that the prize pool is $1100, but it is far more important that there are cash prizes down to the position I finish in. I will probably be next to last.

I did pretty good for being the only Gold ranked player there. To quote the caster "some older guy in Gold league". I was definitely the oldest player there, only a couple were within 10 years of my age, at the most. I did good as the only Gold player in a tournament of Masters, which is to say I went 0-4 in my games, but I made them work for it. I didn't just quit at the first sign of trouble like "pros" do. Anyone who wanted to win had to destroy all my buildings. That was my passive aggressiveness at work.
I was a little disappointed that no one seemed to acknowledge my semi-fame as THE McStupid, the most bad mannered player in SC2 ladder rankings, I thought that would at least get me a few questions asked about if I really can have a player banned as I have written in the chat box during many matchmaking games that I wasn't doing well in (yes I really can, I know people at Blizzard HQ, Irvine).
In my first game, the Master I was playing against started to rush me early and I got him to back off for a bit, but I got to say, I nearly came out of my chair over it. He was some skinny little Asian dork and I would have ROFLstomped his ass IRL. But I behaved myself and contained the rage.
Anyone got a link to the VOD of the tournament? I'd like to see it, as there was talk of casting one of my games. I hope they casted the game where I had a fleet of 3/3 Vikings going around destroying Zerg bases.
Tournament creators - as I was saying to one of you, make a Bronze-Silver-Gold tournament. Do not make it for Bronze to Diamond, as no Bronze will even bother trying. It was bad enough me being in Gold and playing Masters. Give the lower level players a fair chance at winning.

Let's just say I was the oldest person in that tournament. I don't look my age either, I have been hearing that for years. I'm sure I am DOUBLE the age of some of the younger players I saw there. The word "old" sounds bad, let's call it "time spent in this life".

Where's the VOD of one of my games? I heard the caster talk about casting one of them.
I watched the short video of "This game makes me mad" where the protoss got early rushed. Is he a diamond or above player?
Let me tell you something I learned back in my Bronze League days about playing against a Protoss - ALWAYS fully recon my base (especially the corners) once I get my wall up, and ALWAYS get detection up as soon as possible!
