This starts tomorrow. Might as well make a thread for it
|
Unfortunately the first qualifier runs parallel to EPS (which is weird, since both tourneys are ESL-run). I hope, they find a way to not make EPS players suffer from that and are tolerable, when it comes to bracket delay.

Probably a bit of an older result, he played in ATC for a while and his opponent probably requested a walkover.

I don't like Kas decision to attack with his army when Zanster had mutas in main. I prefer to pull back army while sending out 2-4 drops, abusing the fact that mutas aren't home defending.

This game is pretty intense. Zanster has 3-3 on the way tho and good econ, I think he should be able to close this out with ultras.

Aint no baseless accusation tho, it's just that i'm not an asshole like some Fureur haha and don't want to ruin the reputation of a team for some minor things like using a merc on a stupid and poorly managed teamleague. And I co-founded WarBringer so I know the case much deeper than you.

As I said, it's old shit and I don't give a fuck. What annoys me is people like you that keep spliting on things that happens more than 2 years ago. In the meantime Pline is the 3rd best team in France and Fureur is nowhere. I've never been close to Zued, but IIRC, this guy wanted to joinn WB and just couldn't until his team contract came to an end. Stabillo cheated and made Zued play on his account during the wait. He got caught and that's it. No need to keep talking about that. It's been more than 2 years. pLine did nothing wrong at all. And fyi, I'm kinda close to Only since i'm the one who got him into playing SC2.

Hmm, don't like that result. I think, Hasu is in general still a more solid player than GungfuBanda, was pretty confident, that he would beat Miniraiser, I fear a bit more, now GungfuBanda advanced.

Also, I know the WCS gets a lot of criticism but stuff like this is pretty sweet. Every season a bunch of unknown (by the public at least) players get the chance to get into the Challenger league and impress a much-wider audience.

I like the stream too. Showtime was hot today though. I don't know if he lost a single map, and he is a former premier league player on top of that, so hOpe really needs to be on top of his game to beat players like him. He can do it though, no doubt. In hOpe we trust!

He must have been nervous today. He picked the wrong race or what happened in the first map vs Miniraser? In any case, Gungfu is good. He'll get there!

Sjaak lost in the qualifiers?
how far did the guy who beat him get? (must have been a top pro who beat Sjaak?)
if he doesnt get into the WCS EU
can he try the WCS NA qualifiers too? some EU think WCS NA is easier..

I believe he can try for a wildcard spot in NA, but the wildcard spots are much harder than the regional qualifiers.

Anything can happen in PvP... during DH Sjaak wen't 2-1 vs a pretty unknown protoss player as well; maybe it's his toughest match-up or something.

It lets people not living in Europe play in the qualifier as long as they have 200+ wins and are master league or higher

Lillekanin is playing mech vs toss. I don't even care about anything else today, I just want him to win this game.

Lillekanin beats Nightend with mech, killing his whole tempest fleet with a huge viking concave/semi surround after smashing his ground army with mass banshees. I would kill to get to watch that more often.

Yo Winter! His handle is Little Bunny and since he has chosen such a weird handle to begin with I doubt he cares if you call it in English instead so you don't have to make a deal out of it every time you try and pronounce it.

You are wrong, I am as well. Why the hell did I think 2 people will advance? Usually it would be 4 to begin with. Krr got disqualified which makes it 5. BabyKnight gives up his spot which makes it 6 people to advance.
ESL will play the quarterfinals , all winners advance. The losers will play each other to find the 2 last players.

My guess is they don't have a problem with it because the 200 rule is there for the people who normally don't play on the server. We know that Starbuck will usually play on european ladder.

Well I think it's obviously not allowed, I have no idea why Shawn let him play. Once Blizzard hears of this, I expect them to respond. It's a hard case though, since he asked Shawn and he allowed it they I'm not sure who is at fault. Really curious how this will end .

No idea about the romanian protoss, but Krass has been playing on that account for more than 4 months.

Would be pretty ridiculos, to disqualify someone, after he already invested three hours because of an admins mistake.

Why is Ret in the 5th/6th bracket if he won? Shouldn Sase be there since Ret is in t4 and qualified?

Not as ridiculous as letting him play. Shawn will just have to apologise, most likely aready did.
It's resolved.

Jade gets his chance, nicely resolved I think! Shawn is usually great, mistakes happen, I'm glad he went back on his decision.

They should compensate Starbuck for the time invested though. Not with something belonging to WCS, but just with a bit of money, worth the amout of time, he invested because of their mistake.

Unfortunately we had to disqualify Starbuck from this qualifier. He borrowed an account from a friend in order to enter the qualifier. Borrowing accounts is not allowed. He will only be disqualified from this qualifier though, no further punishments.
As for the screenshot stating that ESL/myself were okay with him using someone else's account: I was left under the impression that this barcode account was actually Starbuck's barcode and that he was the one who amassed the 200 wins last ladder season. He explained that the account was given to him "forever".
A very unfortunate but avoidable misunderstanding. Since most of the players change their barcode accounts to their real name for this qualifier this kind of fell through the cracks. I should have taken the time to make sure that it was really his account that he was claiming to be his.

Or he could have not cheated his way into the qualifier in the first place?

Cheating would be trying to betray the admins, as in not asking them, before the qualifier happened. He did inform the admins though, so there is no attempted betrayal and thus no cheat.

Still as I said earlier, this was caused by an admin, Starbuck wasted 3 hours because of an admins decision (and the entire seeding of the qualifier did get messed up because of that as well btw.) and thus the ESL should fix the damage, which was caused by an admins decision.

Anyway, the admins mistake was corrected, everything should be solved now, back to the games.

if he straight up said he didn't got the 200 wins instead of being elliptic about an account permanently "gifted" to the admin, he would've reacted differently maybe....
