Doing exactly what you are known to do when you know your opponent studies you is in itself a viable strategy, reverse mind games. There is this thing called "keeping your opponent honest" in fgc. Basically you don't do the double mind game until they force you to respect the single level mind game.
Well in Flash's case his strategy of cc first is just not viable in SC2 generally, if it were among the most viable choices he would have much more success with it imo. We've seen the double mind game work for multiple players for months (Parting during and after the soul-train period; Innovation doing hellbat drops every single game).

I don't think there was any double mind game for Parting or Inno during soul train or hellbat drops.
Parting legitimately thought no one could stop his soul train.
Inno legitimately thought no one could stop his hellbat drops.
Both were right. (Cept when Inno got roach bane busted 6 times between Symbol and Soulkey)

Leenock has said he's done double mind games. He lets Protoss see his overlord that scouts the building stargate. Lets it die to a stalker. And then prepares for robo tech assuming that Protoss canceled it and made it into something else.

If Pigbaby is defensive it works better for him cause he can build up to a better deathball off two or three base with superior tech and upgrades. If he gets aggressive I don't see him winning against HyuN because he is playing into his hands.

Yeah, its a joke, ESL, Liquipedia and this LR thread all collaborated to make a very late, hilarious April Fools joke.

So, I just got home from my first time ever in the audience for a live esports event. I have been in the house for 3 minutes, and here's what I have to say:
That. Was. Amazing.
First of all, the studio is sick, the production is on the money, and they really knew how to make an audience feel welcome. On break? Clutch is walking around, Nate might be walking around, stop one of them and ask a question if you'd like! Hell, Camdozer will come up and talk to you! Also, there was pizza. That was pretty cool.
Second off, the audience was electric. I don't know how much of us you could hear on the stream, but there was always hype happening. People were either discussing the game amongst themselves, or they were "oooooh"ing at some big move, or, of course, finding something to yell out or chant in excitement. Yes, guys, the Observer hype was so, incredibly real.
Third, this tournament has given rise to 2 great people to have at any event - Qxc as a caster (though I'd still rather he be at the keyboard than the mic), and Clutch as a top-notch host. Qxc's stellar casting is self-evident, but I do wanna mention how wonderful to see a player-caster who, while still being a great analyst really lets loose with personality. Clutch really worked the room. He cued us when we were live and they'd hear our cheering, he gave us a little background on parts of the interviews that didn't make the final cut, he really just did everything you'd want a host to do. He can seriously challenge Redeye for the best host in the English-speaking world.
I'll answer some questions if anyone wants. Anyway, I might be in the pictures ESL puts up on Reddit tomorrow (I'm sure my voice will be in a couple of the VODs). Look for a guy with dark hair, big glasses, and a black shirt with the Phoenix Wright "Objection!" text on it.

Yet, when everybody expected Parting to not do his soul train because he's facing someone who's successfully defused it, he did it. He didn't always win with it, but to me that's symbolic of the double mind game. Same with innovation imo.

The Observer crowd may go down as one of my favourite e-sport experiences. I cannot understate how much I loved watching the stream, and wish I'd been there live.

Only three people have ever take maps off of Parting's WoL Soul Train. Of those only two ever won the series. I can't really think of a time he didn't win with it.
And no one ever successfully defused Inno's hellbats unless we count Soulkey's finals. He was nerfed to not use it.

The first two games weren't even close. Taeja just couldn't get any harass in. Overall, he got outplayed hard by Pigbaby.
