I hate that argument as much as you do, but a Terran losing to a Protoss in this day and age says very little about that Terran's actual skill level. You have to look at the content of the games. What we saw isn't that different from watching a Korean B-team Terran tear Soulkey apart with some bizarre mech all-in that Soulkey's never seen before. Pigbaby's playstyle required a very particular reaction out of Taeja, and Taeja didn't know what that was (I don't either). Unfortunately, Terrans don't really have any such compositions to throw back at Protoss. It is what it is. I'd say these were BO wins more than anything. For a good chunk of that third game, Taeja looked to be running circles around Pigbaby but accomplishing nothing.

If Taeja hadn't seen it before, that's his fault, because the high-observer style was a build Pigbaby used against Heart in the Round of 16.

I only tuned in today, don't know what else was worth checking out so far. I wouldn't be so quick to assign blame to Taeja for failing to observe the umpteenth new Protoss composition that apparently gets results in standard macro play. How long did he really have to prepare for Pigbaby? Several days?

Stop with this nonsense: "all the good Terran players went to EU and NA". So true. Beating up on foreigners and Code B Koreans is not impressive. Taeja was smart for leaving Korea, as he never was competitive in the GSL, but this just shows you that results outside of Korea really don't matter much. The 3-0 TL preview prediction, as most predictions from TL writers (see EG-TL #1 prediction) was a bit silly, but at least now uneducated people will realize that beating up on mediocre competition in EU and NA doesn't make you the best in the world.

In any case the fact that Taeja is one of the very top players in the world means he is expected to deal with different play styles. Either by having enough strategic acumen to adapt on the spot, or doing his homework beforehand. That he lacked both is entirely his own fault. That said, he's still a big favourite coming into his next tournament though, one bad series doesn't say much.
