In any case the fact that Taeja is one of the very top players in the world means he is expected to deal with different play styles. Either by having enough strategic acumen to adapt on the spot, or doing his homework beforehand. That he lacked both is entirely his own fault. That said, he's still a big favourite coming into his next tournament though, one bad series doesn't say much.
Don't you have to beat "very top players" before considered for such a title?

As good as Taeja is, I don't think he knew he played 6-observers Protoss. It probably caught him off guard that all his maneuver got read and countered perfectly. On 2nd game, he probably got a feeling on what actually happens and decide to build turret, but that did not solve the problem either. In game 3, he decided to put quick aggression to solve the problem and push Pigbaby away from his ideal observer count, but half-baked-desperate-strategy-thought-between-games like that rarely works well, and it didn't Regardless, quite happy that Bomber passed through. Of those 4 Terrans, I thought Bomber and Polt had 50:50 chance while Taeja had 100% chance to semi-finals (don't really follow Heart). I was wrong on the last one, but it still OK. Curious what other bizarre strategy Pigbaby will show us against Hyun

All my bets are fucking incorrect

I went 3/4 with the expectation of Bomber not being in good form. And this picture is pretty funny.

Wow Pigbaby.

"#1 player in the world" falls 0-3 before a former KeSPA b-teamer? Looks like practicing with sOs has served PB well. I almost didn't stay up until 6AM, but I'm glad I did.

Taeja and Polt out? No one left to root for for me, that's so sad.
WCS EU also has lost all of its fan favourites, so this WCS is going to suck ass.

Wow Teaja and Polt 0-3? Which year is it? :O

I have to give props to Pigbaby, that was probably the best "I'll defend you so much you'll lose" PvT in a long while!

Taeja was smart for leaving Korea, as he never was competitive in the GSL, but this just shows you that results outside of Korea really don't matter much. "never was competitive" 6 code S seasons in a row, 7 if you coun't the one he qualified for but didn't play in : 2 ro8 (one losing to squirtle who was playing like a god before the final), 2 ro4 (both losing to the future winner ...)
God uneducated people

I was afraid TaeJa might retire a bit earlier. He got smacked down so hard

Please dear god stop with this damn ''Korean B-Teamers'' one example of why you shouldn't is how everyone says that Jaedong for example is a B teamer that wouldnt even get into Code S yet he beat the likes of Dear GSL S3 Champion and S3 Finals Champion and Maru who won WCS KR S2 and have been wrecking it ever since.

At least Taeja doesn't have any trouble to admit he's been bested. He tweet "thank you for cheering me" and "congrats Pigbaby". Violet also did the same, but the other one seemed more concern about making excuses than congratulating his opponent

Why would anyone be suprised that a protoss win. A code B terran is skilled enough to win GSL as protoss. This game is a huge fucking joke.
