sOs vs Bbyong could be a good game not seen sOs PvT in a while. I just like Maru to much not to anything but hyped for a warm up TvZ as he plays Soulkey in RO8

If it isn't double proxy rax from Maru vs. Zerg, then it isn't standard. LOL :D
Also Maru went for marine first as this map has so much open space he is trying to snipe overlords. So no, this isn't really standard opening Standard is Reaper first
I don't know what Maru is trying to do with this unit comp. There's way too many Roaches for this unit comp to trade effectively. Maru needs Marauders or at the very least Medivacs.
Wtf EffOrt why did he play so well. Maru didn't do much wrong, denied as much scouting as he could. He attacked at nice timings just EffOrt was one step ahead of him like he was Soulkey or something 0.O

Perfect composition against what Maru had. If Maru had Stim or some Marauders it could end up differently.

Maru went for hellbats/marines/cloaked banshees, Effort scouted everything with early overlord speed, got roaches and queens, crushed the push and countered with nydus.

TRUE will win this in the end if they keep like this. When he get the same upgrades as Hydra, he will win since he always have better engagement than Hydra.

But he didn't even start second armour upgrade.
It doesn't matter, 2-1 vs. 2-2 makes almost no difference. As I said, TRUE is winning now.
Difference between attack upgrades is important, but +1 or +2 armor doesn't really matter since it takes the same number of shots with +2 attack to kill a Roach with +1 and +2 armor.

okay i see, caster really made big deal out of upgrade advantage
That was true until +2 completed for both players, which was a long time. Hydra had a huge timing to finish the game off but coulnd't.

It was in the beginning when Hydra had +2 attack while TRUE's +1 attack wasn't even finished yet, but TRUE had a lot better engagements with more Roaches and defender advantages that he turned that in his favor, and from the moment he had the same attack upgrade as Hydra, being down 1 armor upgrade didn't matter with his much better positioning.

mostly because he took stupid engagement (and also True took good ones, but still, I kinda blame Hydra a bit)

also i think that TRUE knew that he was behind on upgrades, so he decided to get ahead in some other aspects ie: by contaminating Hydra's hatcheries and slowing down his production

worth mentioning that armor ups do matter a lot more if/when hydralisks come out. i like going roach/infestor against double evo and roach/hydra against single evo but yeah often it just doesn't come into play

Sadly english people are pretty terrible at english
Yeah im pretty bad at it It took a miracle for me to get a C grade at it in high school But then again, im pretty sure my writing is more understandable than Shakespeare's ever will be. DAT 14 CC OF BALLZ
I'm actually pretty upset that Jin Air sent Maru out instead of sOs. I feel that sOs is the much more solid choice. and If CJ had decided to send Bbyong or Effort, i feel sOs>Maru. and even vs herO, sOs has shown (iem katowice) that he knows how to get into herO's head.

All we need is Avilo here coming to tell us how herO doesn't know how to play against Mech and how it would be easy win from the beginning if he did "that" and "that".

I guess they can't be good at the same time. Maru won WCS Korea when MKP failed to get his tenth premier league / Code S in a row. And he also barely missed the nestea award the season after

I think herO played that quite perfectly. Testing Maru's defenses with the Immortal/Archon timing, mutlipronging with zealots/DTs, Warp Prism, blink and eventually switching into an army that isn't practically undealable for mech.

With some upgrade and some bank to remake the interceptors, they still have the best DPS. If u can afford them, vs mech they're never a bad choice.

The phoenix were good enough to protect the tempests. In this configuration I think he made the better choice.

He is among better Protoss players, but not even the best Protoss, let alone the best player in the world.
So beating Innovation, Life, Zest and Flash in Bo3/Bo7 in the last week just means he's just a better Protoss player?
When I said among better Protoss players, I meant among the best. I guess I didn't express myself correctly.
I would call him top 5 Protoss, with Zest, Classic, Rain and sOs there, occasionally Parting, but they are constantly switching places from one week to another.

What is a bad choice vs mech though? PvMech is really this matchup where you have so many good options to pick from that it's confusing for Protoss himself.

The phoenix was a move after he had already won the game. He could have made VRs or Carrier or just more tempest instead, and would have still won, since Maru was already a dead fish in the water, mining only from 1.5bases and without the potential to do anything offensive.
Dwf is right. He should have had some storm templar with this. With the vikings kiting and therefore clumping like they did, and the way the aircontrol is all the Protoss needs to insta-win in that situation, even saccing multiple templar into ghost/tank for a single storm on that vikingcloud would be worth it.
