Is this a case of don't let Terran get there..? Not necessarily. Targa never did counter attacks to try and get onto Morrow's production. He constantly lost Mutas and just would go counter attack to the 5th/6th base but never got anything done. When Morrow started moving out onto the map, it's best to do something like break off a few SHs and go just take out the base on the other side of the map. You can also sacrifice your mutas and go take out the Terran's major production facilities and just switch into Viper/SH/BL/Infestor and hope that the Terran messes up while you just abduct tanks/thors and force him to come attack into you. He also had no static defense really, allowing Morrow to constantly push his Ravens ahead of his tanks. Spore crawlers really help demolish PDD with "free" attacks. Losing a spore crawler really doesn't mean anything, but it wastes the PDD on stuff that you would normally want it to be saving for locust volleys. Other than that, I'd say that it's a very strong composition. Targa played well but I think that that he needed to be doing more counter attacks and not just commit like 5-10 SHs to take out the 5th. That map is also very tight though, and there was no maneuverability for him to try and finagle his way behind a base and siege it. | ||
