But thank you, Golden! It's nice to see that people like you, unlike a lot of the TL and reddit posters, do not express the inappropriate cynicism but find ways to improve Hyun's situation! I hope Hyun and his friends find other solutions to help Hyun's situation! :D

I think it can generally be agreed, it really really sucks look, sure, other people have been ripped off too. don't like it? don't donate or watch. There is an argument that other players are deserving of support - so rather than bitch about it, put on your big girl pants and support them as well as HyuN. If you think legal recourse is the answer, it's a pathway to more debt - lawyer's fees, court fees, service attempts on Quantic/Simon - and then even if HyuN wins, there's no guarantee of collecting a dime from Simon or Quantic if the money isn't there. Then there's more costs in trying to collect after the fact - in principle a great idea, but often you wind up in debt even if you win. This is players coming out to help another player - it's a bloody wonderful display of human kindness and community spirit among Korean players and dammit Golden this is fucking wonderful. Thank you.

If we just give Hyun money, then Quantic's actions will be forgotten until the next time a scam comes up. The correct course of action is pursuing Simon/Quantic. This was the last straw for Quantic, there's no coming back. This doesn't pay Hyun the money that Quantic owes him, Quantic still owes the money and if he doesn't get it from them I'm assuming he still has a legal right to it. Nobody is going to forgive Quantic, certainly nobody that donates to Hyun to help alleviate his personal financial woes because of their inability to properly pay their player. I agree wholeheartedly that the best way to keep this from happening again is to have some pretty extreme consequences for their actions, but I don't agree that Hyun should have to suffer for something that was not his fault. The only thing this tournament will do is give him a bit of a financial pillow to continue as a pro gamer while he finds another team or living situation or something. I highly doubt Golden and the players will actually raise $23k, it's just a little assistance. EDIT: To address the "other players have been burned in the past too" yeah, it happens. Should we be angry that reddit got MKP and Crank to MLGs but not other players? This is 5 gamers who feel that they can help their friend out through a financial hardship.
