DO NOT! unleash the sheep army. Quoting them is the same as posting them.

Duckdeok should've beaten Maru because he's the better player objectively.

I never said that JD SHOULD beat Maru because he was able to beat Dear. He CAN.

He beat Dear against all odds. He can do it against Maru too.

Jaedong vs Maru is interesting because really Jaedong vs Mvp told us nothing about how good Jaedong is, just how bad Mvp is. And it's not like Maru plays even remotely similar to how Mvp played that series. Really just a giant ? mark going into that one.

Wow the viewer numbers even on the recast are great.

What an incredible success these finals have been for Blizzard. And what a fantastic rebuttal to all that silly "SC2 is dying" negativity. The stream yesterday was at 125k viewers, and that doesn't even count the Blizzard stream numbers we don't have. That stacks up nicely with the most watched tournaments in SC2 history--and perhaps more importantly, the level of play has been incredible as well. Just a fantastic showcase of SC2 at its best.

Well you can't exactly judge the survival of a game off of one event, you have to look at yearly trends to really judge whether its getting better or worse. I mean this is clearly the premiere event for SC2 so its not surprising many would tune in. But will it last as long as BW did? I wonder. Anyway I agree that its not dying at all. It at worst will plateau at a lower level of viewership compared to other games like LoL etc.

Everyone talks about how big TI3 is for DotA or how huge Worlds was for LoL. If we'll compare, can we at least be consistent in using only "standard" tournaments or only "huge" tournaments?

always pick what your argument is fitting best

I think its almost futile to predict who will win after yesterday. We have almost all the upsets that could possibly happen in the first round and second rounds. Really anyone could win. I just hope its a Terran since its my new race

what? there was 1 upset in the ro16. ro8 you could argue for 3, but overall that still isn't THAT many.

that being said, Bomber wins this.

Yeah I suppose. But I guess the upsets were significant enough that the number doesn't matter too much. Who really was predicting Jaedong would beat dear of all people, or bomber beating soulkey, or duckdeok beating innovation? I don't think you can reliably predict anything after seeing what happened yesterday.

Bomber beating Soulkey isn't anywhere near as huge of an upset as the other two imo. but it still is an upset if i take off the Bomber pilot glasses, yeah. the other two, i'll give you that. and of course anything can happen here, which is part of what makes it so exciting. the other part is Bomber.

I absolutely agree, if you make comparisons they should be more specific. Not sure if awesomecalypse was really arguing against that, I just feel like SC2 is dying really needs to be judged on a broader basis than this one tournament .

Supposedly Jaedong's been focusing really hard on prepping for ZvT in the runup to his tournament. But Maru is pretty sick, and is definitely on Dear's level when it comes to presenting a challenge, so it'll be a tough match no matter what.

No it's not. If he isn't good enough to get past duckdeok, then he doesn't deserve to even showcase his TvT. Besides, anyone who says that kind of stuff still ends up losing. Just a bluffing words.

I thought Evo was as good as or better than both TI3 and Worlds. Doesn't mean that FGC is stronger than those 2 scenes.

Looking past your first opponent in the grand finals is the height of arrogance. Whatever people may think of different regions, you don't qualify for the Grand Finals without being a great player, and assuming anyone there will be easy to beat is just asking for an upset.

Yea, it's not like the other 13 people who all failed to make it to the semi-finals are all smiles and sunshine. There are 13 miserable fucking players at Blizzcon today.
