funny thread. Arguing about people disliking Naniwa and making a comment about it is well, leading to another argument, the irony lol. Personally, I don't care much if Naniwa wins or not. I have my favourite players like Flash, sOs and life so I cheer for them if I want to post and ignore Naniwa aside from game comments. Having said that, this is a public forum. People are allowed to express their opinion's about a certain player as long as it is well articulated and they aren't just bashing the players, calling them names and such. To restrict that is to restrict the purpose of a public forum where generally a lot of things are allowed within reason. On his topic, I think being BM in the past and doing rather odd things or blaming others(JYP touched him? XD) led to him having (a lot?) of antifans. Not much can be done about it though unless he shows another side of himself.

And instead of people talking about his games the only things I see are excuses why some strangers from this forum don't like him. Is this a joke?!?! What the heck. Who the hell cares about you guys? Cause I'm sick of reading it here. Honestly. Damnit. Let's stick to the facts. And Naniwa keeps winning and may as well take this tournament. That's a damn fact.

Naniwa haters, you suck no less than Naniwa's rage.

So basically you're saying Lol at free speech and other people's opinions besides mine don't matter.

Yes. He expressed his own opinion and therefore suppressed other ideas by "loling" at free speech. I think that's how it works and the correct technical term.

Naniwa haters just want their free speech to hate as often and as frequently as possible in as many threads as they can. Is that so much to ask for? Seriously you guys need to grow up. Hating on any player is immature IMO. You can dislike the way a player conducts himself but to make every thread about your dislike for him personally and not about the games or his play is just completely ridiculous and frankly should be grounds for a ban if not at least a warning.

I think you're blowing this out of proportion. People just state why they don't like Naniwa. And being BM is a pretty valid reason to not like a player. You're allowed to vocalize that. Just like people can say Alive has no personality or you know x player is bad, etc. I think that the fact that you are a big Naniwa fan is making you think it should be banworthy but it generally isn't, within certain boundaries.

I think that it's ok to vocalize dislike to something what happened during the tournament, but it is NOT ok to keep expressing the disliking about things not related to the tournament for the sake of hurt feelings, because the player under question gets high in the tournament. I find this practice unhealthy to say the least. In case of Naniwa, it really gets ridiculous.

Idra is BM and everyone seemed to love him for it? Not saying you did, and frankly I disliked him for it because his BM was more about ego and hubris and less about desire to win. And I can back that up with him ragequitting games without even trying to come back from a small defecit. Where as Naniwa will fight to the bitter end if he thinks there's any chance of him coming back to win. I for one think your perception of "Naniwa's BM" is just his eccentric personality shining through in his desire to win and everything else falling to the wayside. Where in today's matches did you see him being BM even in the slightest tho? Cause I was there and saw nothing of the sort.

Obviously I remember him saying some dumb comments about losing to Targa or some other EU zerg in EU Premier league one of the seasons ago. That was the last time I remember..... what did he do today to justify you bashing him in THIS thread that has to do with THIS tournament??

And you saying my huge amount of support for Naniwa makes me biased in this discussion is pretty ironic considering your huge amount of hate for him.

Idra got just as much hate from the community. He was an incredibly polarizing figure and tons of people hated on him in threads and the like. But Naniwa has lashed out at people on twitter calls people bad etc. which is why I think he is BM. Vortix even said that Naniwa said like "I hope your whole family gets cancer" or something like that and I can't support a player who acts like that.

But I think you're overestimating my "huge amount of hate for him"

Funny how people are discussing their feelings/opinions towards naniwa, I for myself cannot really stand him for what I've seen from him so far (bm on twitter, blaming hardware for bad performances etc.), but that does not have anything to to with the fact that apparently naniwa has something hidden inside of him which enables him to perform consistantly well against high tier koreans (plus he plays protoss ofc ).
Just because you dislike someone personally doesn't mean you can't have at least some respect or appreciation for his accomplishments...
In the end Nani proved he is outstanding (wether it may be performance- or personality-wise ) and people have to admit that!

Naniwa is such a fascinating player, and personality. Sometimes I really can't stand him, the comments he makes can be down right terrible and disrespectful, although some of them are absolutely hilarious. (JYP touched me, PP...gumiho walking around like a retard, omg how'd i lose to tefel, worst player in the world). But on the other hand I always admired his competitiveness, drive and determination to succeed, which seems levels above most foreigners, and for that I don't mind seeing him do well.

Hmm, Nani v San vods are still not up yet. :-/

Watching all of Curious vs sOs was very good, though. I was only able to catch the last part of g4, and g5 this morning.

who cares about us? apparently you do...

look, i don't want to start an argument or hostility with you, but why do you think it's your right to tell people what they can discuss? you don't like reading it, fine. i don't always like reading people talk about how they hate seeing koreans in every tournament, hate WCS format, or how much they love their favorite players, or when people start talking about dragonball Z. but this is a community of people with interests, ideas and opinions, people can choose to talk about what they want, and i respect that. if a mod comes in here and says "this thread is not for discussing X, Y or Z" then that changes things. but otherwise, you really have no place to say what we discuss

i was posting about how i don't like naniwa's personality because i saw other people discussing it and wanted to share my thoughts as well. it's not because i hate naniwa personally and want him to feel bad, it's because i wanted to socialize with other sc2 fans about an issue a lot of us have opinions about. there's no conspiracy to "whine" or bash anyone, but topics come up and they are discussed

sorry you feel so offended by it, but that's how communities work.

People are just sick of LR threads being about everything other than the actual games, especially people bringing up the same talked-to-death discussions over and over again. It's one of the major reasons why I rarely post in these threads any more. The amount of time I've come here to discuss or read about a game that's just happened and found nothing but shit being discussed maybe you can understand why some don't get to happy at it.

Also people bringing up "free-speech" for a privately owned forum is kind of funny...

Dude Naniwa saw me before the games trying to get his attention but just kinda ignored me, I understood it tho completely. Kaelaris said even he doesn't try to talk to him before his games. Afterward he won and after he saw me in the front row jumping up and down going crazy he was super nice backstage shook my hand, took a picture, but most of all we had a brief conversation about his mindset during the games. It was an amazing experience, he's an eccentric guy.... he is also kindof shy and doesn't get off on the attention and just loves the game and loves to win. He doesn't like distractions either. (These are just my assumptions based on what I saw and what I've heard about him.... I don't know him that well)

(I'm way more excited and elated here than my face might show here.... okay... fine... I was trying to look cool with my hero next to me)

Great guy. I love the guy, not him personally cause I don't know him personally, but I love his play and I love the person I met today. He's a nice dude and I appreciate him greatly. Thanks so much for all your hard work and your passion for the game Naniwa, you reflect the same passion fans like myself have for it as well.

OH AND BTW he then went on to take pictures with EVERYONE I saw standing there swarming him for a picture.... I can't say if he got to every single person out of the upwards of 30+ people if that's what someones complaints are idk.? All I can speak on is what I saw. And what I saw was a mildly shy, keeps to himself sort of guy who likes to focus before games and doesn't really enjoy crowds or too much attention afterwards. If you can't deal with that and get over it then don't cheer for him, who needs you? Naniwa sure as hell won't mind, cheering for him or against him makes no difference to him he just wants to win.

Cool pic, thx for sharing!
