The 5 stars one seems a tad congested, but for the difference in makes in actually indicating if a VOD is worth watching or not, I think its much better.

Tuesday it was moved because of 5th place placement matches. I have no idea about yesterday. Maybe they needed the studio for some WoT or Dota2 stuff. Actually that's probably the case for MWF.

It could take a few days to get everything ready for the finals (packed up and moved etc)

Who the hell makes 4x4 bingo boards, totally lame. Do it again and make it 5x5.
I can't even remember the last time I was awake for the pre-show K-pop. A good break from the "All Gold Everything" I've had on repeat for god knows why.

If one of the things occurs, you may X it out.
So if Keen beats Leenock, X it out. If Leenock beats Keen, do the other.

I don't understand why Khaldor (or any other caster) does mention that Pigbaby's response to the reaper was good. Its complete standard, if you skip the zealot you will need to pull a probe or lose 1 but you can easily get MSC and/or stalker out with a complete standard build that requires no "reaction".
The case that First completely fell apart vs it just shows that you can react very poorly, but your normal build should cover proxy reaper just fine.

Wasn't close at all lol. PigBaby could of lost about 10 armies to Keen, but PigBaby had his 3 base econ to fall back on and his 10 games of zealot warp ins and better upgrades xD Lets not pretend that was anything but Keen losing after his Reaper proxy did nothing
On August 08 2013 18:17 Heartland wrote: Wow. That was unnecessarily close.

..Yes, it was : P Pigbaby was close to throwing the game. Sure, maybe Pigbaby would have been able to lose the third and still win, but it was still unnecessarily close.
pff Keen has been around for so long, I wna see this guy succeed and get to code S again man, he deserves it. And he's got some neat victory celebrations.
It would have been close if the battle had occurred somewhere closer to Pigbaby's bases. He needed two warp in cycles to beat Keen's army assuming no storm. But he had storm, so it wasn't close.

Because it was the proper reaction and we have an audience that consists of players of all skill levels.more surprised that you are one of the nitpick who doesn't understand that

No it wasn't... Pigbaby was hallucinating those Colossus because he knew he won and was mocking KeeN. It didn't matter what KeeN did at that point, he had nothing to stop any Colossus or any future warp ins, considering Pigbaby was already with a 4th. He even stormed his own Zealots and basically a-moved engaged and still it didn't matter.
Plus he probably had MSC at home.
125 supply vs 75 is not close in a TvP when the Terran has no more ghosts/vikings, and an entirely injured army.

I already replied to him, no need for so much hate. And Khaldor very well knows that I think very highly of him and the content he provides.

Didn't mean to hate on you in any way. Just wanted to point out that standard and good aren't mutually exclusive mate ^^
as the time passes pvp in sc2 starts to be as boring as it was in BW.. static, without any witty strats... like tvt before hellbat nerf.. i can't describe how i hate pvp, awful to watch and all the pvp games starting to last 15+ minutes - torchure!

PvP in Broodwar was often nailbaitingly close and exciting and that comes from me as Terran. Also PvP can be good (Grubby vs HasuObs) unfortunately the majority of the time it seems to not be

you must have not seen one-base carrier in BW PvP
of course i did... majority of the games were very boring.. but it is just my opinion, protoss is very boring race for me, to play it, to watch it so PvP is twice as boring for me :p but someone hates zvz or tvt....

Wolf currently has two spots that are null-and-void now since Leenock lost + Pigbaby/Keen went 19 minutes
also I'm 99.99% sure Keen killed over 20. He killed like 5 just by taking out failed hatch remakes by Leenock, and he hammered the fourth a few times and dropped in the main.

Better stop worrying about it cuz it's not gonna stop, this is the internet man. Just care about a select few opinions from people you trust/value.

you dont seem overly biased khaldor, and even if you are, you hide it well enough, and youre smart enough to already know all that im saying anyway. and even if you did come off as biased, i personally dont mind, we need more ppl giving zerg love...

I'm weird, I get really hungry at night but I'm always tired so I fall asleep anyways. Then in the morning I have no appetite whatsoever. I do eat a lot for lunch though. Usually I have fruits or a salad or something in the evening though, just none yesterday
If Leenocks gets knocked out he probably is the most unlucky player in Korea. Losing a GSL final to a lesser player and getting Nestea award denied because Chae changed the rules on his 9th season.

increasing duration between meals/eating smaller portions in between meals, and therein letting urself feel hungry throughout the day (not so much that is rlly painful) actually increases longevity (based on a study done on worms lol). but you shouldnt freaking starve urself man >_<

Nah in true villain fashion he accomplished nothing after winning a championship.

not at all. He's just irrelevant like a fair amount of people (myself included) expected.

I don't feel starved really, the trick is to only get hungry when I'm asleep It's so hot here right now that I can't really eat a lot anyways so I try to get in one decent meal a day and have cold fruits/vegetables when I do get hungry

oh yeah, chairs and sunshades flying around like Ling-pieces after getting hit by tank-shots with those new physics. That would be awesome

With builds like that, I understand why Protoss is not utterly dominating. Maybe the KR Protoss needs to take a look at the way EU Protoss playes as it always (since WoL) even gave Korean Terrans at least a bit of headache. Pair that with mechanics of the Korean Protoss and it would be sick but what the hell was that build :/

Yeah I don't understand what he was doing, blink into DT off 1 base on that map? wtf? Why not just go euro style and turtle with easily defendable bases

So many times it's been close.
2012 Season 4 the fuck Sirius group because Sirius denied the 5-way tie in the very last game by losing to Seed.
Also the same group that denied SuperNova the NesTea award... Watch Pigbaby lose the last game and deny the 5-way tie and deny Leenock the NesTea award. lol

afaik he would have gotten it if he won here. MKP and DRG also (even though they didn't keep the streak) And yes it's a joke. Chae should just have given it to Leenock as the third person to get it when he did it and then discontinued.
only hope for Keen now is going into really late lategame with the perfect mass ghost-viking-medivac-hellbat composition. But Avenge is too smart to let him to do that I think

Yea, exactly... and he didn't have a probe following the enemy probe to attack it, which is a necessity when the cannons just come up.

I don't think you can think rationally when this build is used against you. At least Avenge could not.
jeez what a crappy defense from avenge... 4 probes per pylon and you stop this easily... Cannon rush when you need 4 pylons to wall yourself in is terrible.. However avenge puts too many probes on the right side and not enough on the left and has a ton idle... Also he was not focussing cannons when he got through instead went for pylons.. You should always focus one or the other depending which are more vulnerable, with a 4 pylon build that are the cannons... Really crappy to lose to this at the pro level...

"Booth Play" is quite a bit different than Ladder or even most offline Tournaments. Stress is a lot higher for most players, with the players having "blood made of ice" having a decisive advantage. Pigbaby played on that. Avenge had to just do the "proper" parts, but in the booth, in a career-changing game, focused on the mid-game & rushes in PvP... and cannons show up.

that was not the flustered reaction of a startale protoss... that was the classic, but ultimately futile "box, amove and stare at the screen with a quivering lower lip and some probes still in gas" of a bronze player.
cant remember the last time i see a all in from terran in TvP. Loads of it from protosses but not from terran. Can you think of any that might work except 11/11. Is there no new 1/1/1? :o
edit: just realised that a lot of terran do go all in with scv pulls at 14-15 min mark, but i mean more like 8-12 min all ins, 1 base builds etc.

There are no allins besides scv-pull timings and those got weaker as Protoss can be greedier early so they are stronger when the timings hit + additionally have photon overcharge. Thats why lots of Terrans complain ;-)

Maybe that's how you become a progamer. :O
Turns out the kespa trial tournaments was just amateurs getting 6 pooled and cannon rushed over and over.
dropping is so hardcoded into the brain of the terran player that he cant stop himself from doing it even though protoss is on 2 base and very well defended. Amusing to watch ^^

Protoss however also loses ~2 probes compared to WoL making the MSC. I do agree though that MSC is not exactly healthy for PvT from a spectator point of view, besides reapers and early marine pokes or widow mine drops there is little action. P is content playing for the long game and T's best chance to battle that are scv timings, doom drops or getting ahead far enough to be ahead lategame. It's fairly balanced but not really interesting.
I think Keen should have started Blue-Flame and added a 2nd Factory by now. So if he trades decently he can re-max with a better army and not worry that much about huge zealot-warpins

I disagree with fairly balanced as do many others
As usual people from both sides think it's unbalanced but I haven't seen much to indicate that at all, if anything stats look fairly fine.

A lot of fans were disappointed that you haven't been doing many ceremonies lately, is there a reason behind it?
Yes, because my results kept getting worse, I wanted to focus more on my games than my ceremonies. If I start placing high in Code S again, or if feel that I'm getting results that I can be proud of as a player, I'll start paying attention to stuff outside of the game like ceremonies again.
This group is so much like last season's group... Avenge beats KeeN in the group, tiebreaker with Avenge, KeeN, and an IM Protoss, Avenge fucks up an all-in against KeeN in the tiebreaker, KeeN advances to Code S... Wat.
It's really sad Ruin came unbelievably close to getting into code S. Had Leenock's overlord not just barely seen Ruin's pylon that could've been a different game.
though tbh, he really isn't code S quality just yet, so whatever I suppose :/
Nothing against KeeN but hes the definition of those who always make Code S only to get knocked out in Ro32 every single time. I'd prefer new blood like Ruin or Avenge

I'm hoping for Keen to finally make a better run in Code S, just look at Maru, he may have been one level above Keen already but it's not as if he was a favorite for this season and now he's in the finals

If Keen managed to get to the next finals, like Maru did, I would be the happiest little camper.

Are there any top Zergs out there that are doing well because I can't think of any? Life, Symbol, HyuN, Leenock and even Soulkey are currently on a losing record? Jaedong maybe?

Jaedong is only really doing well outside of Korea though

I know, right?
He's just so fucking unlucky as well. If blizzard had decided to start the WCS thing ONE season later he would have gotten the nestea award TT
Really just hope Chae gives it to him anyway cause he did 10 seasons in a row. Don't know why only he should have to do 11 seasons in a row to get an award for 10 seasons in a row.
Everyone drops out of Code S at some point, he will come back. But it's just stupidly unlucky/depressing that he did 10 seasons in a row and still wont get the award. And to start the streak at this point is almost impossible. Would take 4 years.
Damn we got the wrong protoss through :/ Gratz Keen, but Ruin or Avenge (especially Ruin imo) would have fared way better than HS in code S, unless HS is suddenly way better than he has shown before today. Well, gg anyway ofc, he's through so he deserves it.

Well Ruin and Avenge didn't show themselves to be better than Pigbaby today did they? And Pigbaby showed that he can prepare good strategies in Proleague where he defeated RorO, Zest, and Rain.

Leenock fell off for obvious reasons. Symbol was never any good, his cheese gimmick play finally being figured out.
How is Hyun on a losing record? Not winning a tournament means losing record?
Soulkey is doing very well... he's lost 3 series in his last 12 (2 to innovation, 1 to supernova) so don't know what you're going on about there.
It was expected that many or all the Zerg "gods" in Wings of Liberty would fall off in HOTS, it was impossible to know which ones were truly great. For instance, we've found out Life wasn't the next MVP like many had predicted.
Give it a few more months and we'll know for sure. We'll either see a lot more KeSPA zergs doing well, or realize balance changes are needed. Losira I think is the strongest eSF Zerg at the moment, his series against Reality was a hell of a lot better than anything I've ever seen from Life or Symbol.

Lol Symbol never any good? He routinely makes it into at LEAST top8 (sometimes top4, one time the finals) in the most difficult SC2 tournament in the world. That's consistency right there.

lol I love Losira, but no...just no to being the best eSF zerg. His series against Reality only seemed impressive because Reality didn't know how to raise a supply depot (honestly don't think he deserved code S either that night). If anything, Losira's ZvZ is the only area where he's consistently looking strong.
Symbol never good? lol. I guess he'll forever stay underrated until he finally wins something. Fuck consistency right? Never mind that he had arguably the best lategame of any zerg in WoL and had a great run in the final season of WoL and even transitioned to HotS better than most Zerg. No, fuck that, all we know is the cheese that many other zergs do often as well because ZvT is tough...
What are these obvious reasons Leenock fell off? Is it because it's not yet the fall season? :p
Anyone with even a little understanding of the game knew Life was legit even during a period of Zerg dominance. His fall was unexpected to say the least.
Kespa zergs also got demolished in their SPL. So....not much better on their end outside of Soulkey really. Effort shows a bit of promise at times, and somehow soO is staying consistent. So I guess those two also deserve a mention.
I'd give it more time to figure things out, but really, it isn't looking good at all in Zerg land.

His builds relied heavily on infestor abuse in WoL, and his mechanics were much worse than the other top zergs.
So, after watching Losira's series vs Reality, you think there is an eSF Zerg with better mechanics/multitask than Losira? I'm not talking about wins/losses. I'm talking about analyzing a player's games. Life plays poorly atm, win or lose, same with Symbol and Leenock. Losira does not.

Symbol's mechanics were not much worse at all, he'd consistently have more larva than most zergs and some of the best creep spread I've seen back then. This season he wasn't as strong, but he's still good enough to crack the ro8. More importantly, Symbol excels in the cerebral aspect of this game, he's very adaptive. If you followed Symbol since he first really started to emerge (I liked him wayyy back in his first encounter with IM in team league, this was before the famous reverse all-kill) you'll see drops, double nydus play, infestor lategame drops, brilliant tech switches, and even a form of ultra/bane ZvP that worked. All of this before he finally succumbed to BL/Infestor like every other Zerg, and he still killed with it.
As for Losira, I don't like badmouthing the guy because I want him to do well. So to put it gently, his decisions are so bad at times it actually boggles the mind. The game isn't just mechanics and multitask, not to mention that despite his insane speed Losira does have lapses in the army control and multitask department. He hits his injects extremely well though. If you're talking about analyzing his games like you say, you'll have noticed a lot of mistakes. For instance, the game against Reality was filled with sloppy moves into widow mines and losing a lot of lings for nothing throughout.
edit: my bad, I missed that you were talking about Leenock and NOT Symbol....which is even more absurd xD. Like the person below me said, Leenock is one of the most diverse zergs ever and is superb at playing from behind. Pretty much everything I said about Symbol, minus having more of an emphasis on decisions/strategy (Leenock is more mechanics) stands for Leenock too so meh. Oh, and btw Leenock is old-school and was owning with Zerg back in the dark ages for zerg with DRG and Nestea...I don't think he needed infestors to do well.

LOL Leenock has been successful with probably literally every zerg style in WoL. He did not rely on his Infestor Gadget style, it was just one style that he used towards the end of WoL.

Please tell me you didn't just write that. You gotta be kidding me? Life was the most feared player in SCII especially towards its end. He was so dominant winning against mvp, reverse sweeping leenock to win MLG as well as other tourneys. He 4-2'd Flash when Flash was up 2-0 in the first HoTS MLG finals. He's the most accomplished Zerg player aside from Nestea. His ZvZ has always been shaky which is why he's not doing as well these days. That and lack of practice since he seems to be playing LoL. Symbol as mentioned is probably the most consistent zerg in WoL and even now in HoTS, he's always making RO8 appearances which is much better than a ton of other zergs. He loves roaches but he's not a cheese only player. Leenock was a tool of all trades. He was the equivalent of mvp where he can cheese or play straight up and win. He was a well rounded player and has some achievements albeit he never won GSL even when he came close(curse you Jijaki!). I dunno why he's not doing as well in HoTS. Maybe something is going on atm.

They should change the # of seasons, but the NesTea award was still ridiculous hard to get - being the top 32 players in Korea for 18 months straight.
