No way lol, if he played macro similar to what maru played he wouldn't won... I'd even go as far and say that Rain is better player, he's basically Innovation that does defend cheeses.

This is the major flaw in your logic.

Artosis told us that it was in case Maru pulled an SCV train, I think.

We won't see it at all.

Let me believe!

No, because on the offchance your desire to see Mech means we'll actually SEE a game of Mech that's going to lead an automatic loss for Maru.

No thanks. I want Maru to beat this guy, and he won't do that if he's meching.

The hard call is on Terrans part. I am on Teamspeak with several Protoss - no one could clearly tell if its a super safe macro build or a timing. Its that hard to make that call, even if you have complete information. I believe Maru should take the risk and go piss greedy, because other than that, he will not win vs a super safe rain.

given the fact that rain even took a 4th i thought it's super safe macro.

what does that tell you about game design?

It tells me you guys are using Rain completely outplaying Maru as an excuse to whine.

I think Maru hasn't gotten a memo about not hitting 200/200 against protoss. He should strongly consider pulling SCVs at about 160 supply

That's because Rain is simply better than every toss by a significant amount. His control, multitasking and most importantly positioning make him such a tough nut to crack.

Most Protoss could have done that exact game rain just played, at least the ones in Korea. Most korean protoss easily have the mechanics to play that style. In fact, going for any aggression as protoss can be more taxing mechanically. He literally sat in his base just macroing up, never had to defend against any drops because his build was airtight with the late 3rd base.

Rain read Maru like a book there. There's nothing else to say, really.

his build looked like it was to counter scv pulls and maru made it look like he was doing an scv pull so it was more like maru read rain like a book

OGN is on TV. Also Gom is split between twitch and gom.

this style only looks unbeatable because rain is a god, watch sOs try to do this against innovation and see what happens.

With EU/NA on this weekend as well I doubt we will see massive numbers + it did start an hour earlier than normal and I'm sure people would have forgotten that.

Inno is more vulnerable to cheese but has superior mechanics to Rain. The whole multi-drop while not missing a beat macro, is what you need to beat Rain's PvT

Because this only works if the Terrans plays super safe aswell and not very fast 3 cc. Then you got a problem as Toss

What? This is the opposite of what Rain's build is designed for. Notice how he did not get a 3rd base until 140 supply? He was behind in supply all game because in exchange for economy he was basically defended vs all drop play and aggression.

eh im not sure if we understand each other correctly. This late 3rd base from Rain and not going for a 2 base timing is bad if the T goes fast 3ccs. Maru played safe aswell and got a late 3rd, thats why Rains build was good this game
