Just wanted to add that smix has demonstrably shown that Koreans are not without personality as is often leveled at them. Clearly having a articulate translator goes a long way.

I think JD will win against Naniwa and lose to Dear.

But why don't we use this opportunity to discuss why JD can't play a proper ZvP? What's more he usually gets ahead and then just flat out dies, which is even worse than simply losing.

So, apparently, the extended series rule is in effect during the MLG spring championships? I don't see any mention of it on the Liquipedia tournament page.

But, let's say Jaedong beats Naniwa ,his match against Dear will continue from 0-2 as a BO5?

If it's extended series, it would be bo7

Jaedong is screwed sadly.

Specifically, the last few PvPs in the OSL were pretty awesome.

I don't know, some of you guys think he crumbles to 2 base all-ins and we all know how good Nani is at those type of strategies. huehuehue If you couldn't figure it out, I was being sarcastic. Jaedong loses in all sorts of ways in ZvP so even if he gets by the King of the North. He'll have to go through Dear next. That is by definition being up against the wall. More power to him if he does make it out of the Protoss gauntlet of death (well at least in his case).

Stats and Dear met up in their bracket early on with Dear straight up outsmarting him, and then Jaedong crushed Stats in the loser's. Not sure what happened to soO though, I think he just struggled to get in form this weekend.

So if I'm reading the bracket correctly, if you lose in the semi-finals you're eliminated from the tournament? No lower bracket thing to fall to?

Correct! But the semi-final is either an extended series against a person you've already beat, so essentially you only need to win 2 games while being able to lose 2 or 3, or if it's the first time two players meet it's simply a bo3 at first. If the person from the Winners Bracket loses, it turns into a bo7 extended series, so that's kinda like "falling to the lower bracket".

I think if the player from the winners bracket loses, that there will be a Bo7 extended series. But I am not certain. It used to be like this in the finals of MLG. But with the new format it looks like it can only happen up till the semi finals.
I had a good night of sleep.
