I was just supporting soulkey for the GSL finals, I am most certainly not cheering for them in PL. Also It's more interesting if they don't secure first place tonight.

Technically they are all correct, but what were the names of both teams at the time?
Whenever I read LR threads, I always want to tell people to remember that in the French court around the time of the Revolution, wit was considered paramount, though puns were considered the lowest of the low in terms of wit & humor. So even if you're doing it in an ironic way, just quiddit plz.

Trap went for blink and mass stalkers, and Soulkey wasn't able to do much damage with the mutas but was able to keep Trap on 3 bases. A semi base race ensued, but Soulkey lost his 3rd, 4th, and 5th bases. Trap lost his 4th soon after and was mining out since his 3rd was so early. Soulkey retook a fresher third, and defended it with mass muta and spinecrawler. Trap couldn't expand because of the large muta ball and attacked, but couldn't break through despite the probe pull.

I only caught the last part when both players were down to 3 bases. A bit lazy to watch the game, doesn't sound interesting.
Please indulge my curiosity. Trap took a quick 3rd. Would he better playing more macro and teching up, instead of going for a semi-all-in?
Seemed odd in the end Soulkey only had mutas and near useless corrupters. But it seemed like he made the right strategic decisions, to hold out for the win. Nice spread on his sunkens, protecting his 3rd and the 2nd.

Quick third into gateway all-in is a common strategy. It was especially used a lot on entombed valley in WoL. It's meant to catch the opponent offguard as your opponent is droning in response to your fast third.

It used to be a really strong PvT timing attack. The mass gateways were necessary to hold pressure from Soulkey and to protect the exposed third. Trap could have possible gone for tech instead of mass gateways (but minimum of 5) but Soulkey would then have the chance to mass expand and take the whole map because he was already building the spire. Hard to say what Trap should have done because the semi all in almost worked. He should have gone to the third, forcefielded off reinforcements, and taken down the third while recalling out.

Soulkey held off Trap on top of the ramp. If he had let Trap up, game would have been over since Trap could have easily sectioned off the third and natural. Soulkey was very patient in gathering forces, pushing Trap back, and retreating when necessary. Trap should have gone to the third through the other path instead. He traded units for units, which is usually a bad idea. He did kill a lot of drones (he was 10 probes up after the attack), but lost most of his army and had no tech behind the attack, and a lot of resources wasted on the only three bases that were easy to take. Trap did ok, but would fall behind in time due to the wasted resources.

Classic has been one of the best players in all of Proleague since Hots. I'd say he's probably the best Protoss. Even better than Rain (who he beat, convincingly, in lategame PvP), at least right now.
He has not lost a game vT and vZ, and is 3-2 in PvP.

That's something about Soulkey which I love about him. A straight-up, solid macro Zerg. A Flash equivalent of a Zerg? (in terms of play style, that is, not equivalent as in bonj... er, better stop here). I mean, I like aggressive Zergs who can 6pool and 10pool, but the methodological style of Soulkey is really refreshing. Too bad he falls prey to cheesy plays in early game (such as his recent losses against sOs and Hero of TL), just like Flash. That's a gap in his game he should remedy.

It's such a dilemma, during Proleague weekend, on timing one's lunch. If I wait till the first game to finish, my stomach starts protesting. So yeah, I have to catch lunches between sets, sometimes.

I wonder if he even truly plans his build, or once the game starts, he's like "OK, fuck it, I'm gonna do some random shit now".

I wonder why hellbat-terran hasn´t been a thing, yet. I mean patchzergs are still all the rage.
