This also happened at 2012 DreamHack Open: Summer, Group Stage #2, Group G. 3 way tie between Seiplo (5-3), Mini (4-3), ToD (5-4). Seiplo and Mini advanced. If Mini beat ToD this seems correct. Mini did indeed beat ToD 2-1 there.

This is probably the best example that makes it apparent why raw game wins shouldn't be used instead of differential. It creates perverse incentives. Exactly. What is a better score 2/1 or 101/100. It's obvious right? in percentages it's 2:1 ![]() always a matter of perspective Of course its 2-1! Who could possibly argue 101-100 is a better score??? there is no such thing as a better score in this case Yes there is. 2-1. 66.66% winrate vs roughly 50%. Clearly 2-1 is superior. How is there no such thing as a better score? Smaller sample size makes a difference. Bigger samples are simply more accurate though. That why Bo7 is always better than Bo3. Anyway, Dreamhack system isn't all that bad. It's not just not all that bad, its the only logical system for a BO3 round robin.
