Pretty much. Being able to warp in units at any pylon means that, by necessity, our basic units need to be relatively weak. To compensate for them being weak, our power units(voids, colossi, tempests, templars) need to be very strong. Because we rely on our power units, we flat out die to any sort of early pressure or all in given how much better hydras/roaches/MMM/mass lings are, so we need a method of holding enemies at bay while we tech, namely force fields and now photon overcharge.
Chargelots are probably the only real exception, but that's only if we have a significant upgrade advantage. Otherwise, they just kind of die while running in.

I agree, he did deserve to lose. I wasn't happy with his strategies in those final matches at all. He did NOT need to do that to win. He is a better player than parting and threw those games away.

Everything you say is correct. Parting played very good against Life. And i agree that people see Protoss in the way you just explain. Atleast i do anyway. But i simply think that Protoss is badly designed race, and it find it incredibly boring to watch compared to Terran or Zerg.
