I don't think that Gumiho's TvT is that good, really. Not with the current maps and not even close to the KeSPA TvT.

how exactly do the maps disfavour TvT for gumiho?

kespa also only have two s-tier terrans (and flash hasn't looked good lately)

Last?

Last abuses things but he's not an all around Code S caliber player atm. Don't think he's consistent enough.

Didn't tastosis say after four groups that racial distribution was pretty good? Now what four Terrans have advanced in a row? They jinxed it lol, I'm pretty impressed gumiho finished first though.

Kespa TvT is overrated. You can count the number of good terrans on one hand.

Flash and Bogus way ahead of everyone

Second tier is way behind. Fantasy flatters to deceive. BaBy is not as good as he was. Bbyong is only good at TvP. Cure is only decent, but good at TvZ. Light has only begun to show potential. Last is an enigma as he hasn't played that much recently. Ask anyone and they will say there is a dearth of Terran in proleague right now, and it's really strange.

So that's 2.

Bomber, Polt, Gumiho, YoDa, are all better than that second kespa tier. MKP is about at that level (sorry opty). Not even counting Taeja/Ryung/MMA(?) as eSF.

Basically right now

Kespa Z = eSF Z (mostly bec of Life and Symbol)
Kespa P > eSF P
Kespa T < eSF T

STILL EQUAL

(seriously guys I am the most unbiased [at least between kespa and esf] dude here so believe me)

They seriously have to address that in LotV
Toss's games are basically
"i make ball, watch ball grow"

The main problem is still that you can't lose units as protoss. They're so expensive and in small groups they do nothing and they only really become effective with decent splash support...

So you just turtle... and hope you can get that golden comp before your opponent kills you.

TvP has been practically the same matchup since WoL first came out. And it's rarely an exiting thing to spectate.

I dont want to compare BW: SC2 but I feel it needs to be addressed.
What made toss non-deathballish in BW?

You had reavers + Shuttle. A pretty freakin strong combination in the right hands that could do massive damage with small numbers.
in SC2 you have colosseus.+ warp prism. No one ever uses it because its pointless. Stim units outspeed the warp prism. It just sort of dies. The fact that vikings are standard makes it so as well.

Unit clumping. BW didnt have the units clumping into a massive ball and were more wide spread. In SC2 because of the intelligent UI, the units clump up as a ball like nobodies business.

Expansion fighting. This goes for all 3 races. Instead of actively fighting for expansions, all players are doing is defending and denying, not taking the base for themselves. This = Less fighting = less entertainment

The strange things is that clumping can be bad a lot of the time, and should promote more micro to try and avoid clumping (such as splitting vs banes, presplitting vs AOE etc) but it doesn't happen as often because damage density is so important in SC2. It's really just the terrible terrible damage approach that causes death balls, not clumping per se.

I feel that Life is slightly better than RorO (Life has better TvZ, RorO has better ZvZ)...
Protoss? you mean protosses exist in GSL?
yeah Kespa T is very top heavy, while ESF has a lot of good Terrans but I think the best terran award goes to Innovation.

I feel that this is because area of effect isn't as devastating in SC2 as it was in Brood war.
Back then, something like a couple lurkers could wreck whole armies if left undetected. Or reavers that did 125 damage. Or tanks that own stuff. Even storm did more damage. Also air aoe is something missing in SC2 which is quite a big hole.

It's not to take away from the integrity of the game that is SC2, but I feel clumping is best solved by giving every race even stronger AOE that forces splitting.

Flash and Innovation are the best terrans in kespa sure, but there are definitely kespa terrans that are Code S. Fantasy is definitely code S level, Baby is amazing, Last is probably Code S. It seems like there are less terrans on the Kespa teams in general, maybe because a lot switched over in WoL/retired. Where the hell has ForGG been btw?

Fantasy has been disappointing in PL (14-13). But he has the potential to be amazing. Baby had a minor slump (8-13). He's only been showing good games again recently. Last is a mystery because he wasn't playing a lot (only 6-9). Of course PL is different from GSL but we have nothing else to go on.

ForGG is in EU.

ESF Z and Kespa T have the same problem...held up by two really good players.

Edit: I would say

eSF T > KesT
KesP = eSF P
