This here is such a horrible "complain to mummy"-style here. So many people trying to please everyone and all they get is hate. This is an online qualifier, done live, made bigger just so more people can play, which causes hate, because the brackets are late. They have multiple international casters, since EU has many countries and languages. Some of the German casters already switch to English so more people can understand and this hellhole if full of people doing nothing but complaining. By the sheer amount of messages here, it seems the majority of people are not here to watch anyways, but just to complain about things others do. So sad.

Hell is other people.

It is sad to see, however! I'm enjoying the hell out of this, can't wait for the real deal! Everything feels kinda rushed but i think ESL have done a good job. Especially Kaelaris!

It was fixed to be a win for him and then I think it was switched back to a win for his opponent while he was playing the next matchup.

Fuu--uh-uh-uhhhhny.

But I repeat: this event has been horribly produced. When the majority of stream time consists of euro dance music and a caster refreshing brackets while wondering out loud whether the brackets are up to date you have problem.

On the positive side, there is apparently great simpatico between Blizzard and ESL. They both mean the same thing when they say a game is coming "Soon."

I'm sorry, but what did you expect for a large online qualifier with such short notice? Repeated filler videos in the style of NASL?

I expected 2 casters to cast the games and discuss them afterwards, better communication between the tournament administrators and Kaeleris so that he can promptly select the best available game, and a better indication that this is a Blizzard WCS tournament qualifiers (for example, more than a WCS overlay in game).

While you'll probably say I'm being too vague, this doesn't feel like the qualifier for the most important tournament in the world.

Way to much ESL hate from people on here. These people or extremely ignorant and shallow minded. I mean these are the basic qualifiers with a lot of amateurs and semi pros in it yet they are expecting GSL production values.

Seems ESL didn't have time to organize themselves properly with such a short notice, and they have been adding WCS overlays and improving throughout the course of the qualifiers.

Lol ESL is such a joke...I dunno why Blizzard chose ESL over DreamHack...

Because the 'joke' is the best eSports organisation europe has to offer while Dreamhack is more or less a single event.
But i might be wrong. -_-

seriously I can't stand this stupid ESL bashing anymore. MLG is doing 1 fucking tournament as a qualification thing which will not even be broadcasted live and they even wanted to charge a fee for it. ESL is open to anybody may it be player or casterwise. By this they are of course having more flaws in their process but at least they try and cover these qualificationgrids as best as possible. How much do you usually get from Code A quali?

...and all ESL gets is hate by the community. great.

I agree with you in that MLG has already done a far worse job and hasn't even started to try and broadcast the event yet. However, it's pretty telling that NASL hopped in for 1 day of qualifiers and absolutely blew ESL's broadcast out of the water. Just because they're the best online organization in Europe doesn't mean they get a pass to put out a low quality product.

That being said, I think people in general need to be more constructive with their criticism. ESL could do a lot better with a good producer (which they supposedly just hired) and an actual functional website.

Of course they could step it up but kalaeris used to be enough for their regular sc2 things - who could have thought that the qualifiers get so much attention right from the start?
I think I heard somewhere that they hired or want to hire more people for the WCS season itself.

That NASL produce a better content... who would have thought?
It's basically kalaeris against bitterdam and 2 or 3 techguys behind bitterdam.
But I'm sure that it will change during the season itself.

NASL also doesn't have any burden to organize games between 1k+ players. Might make it easier to concentrate on casting.
Who cares though only a few troll repeating over and over how much they hate ESL, will see them on the MLG thread as well, crying about replays and kiddos spoiling the results.

Funny how every post that defends ESL in some way is from a German. Grab your dicks and tell ESL they screw up on a lot of things, they might learn from it. This is so silly....

Btw what does running the tournament have to do with casting the damn thing?

How hard can it be to find a Co-Caster though? Heck, on take's stream two staff members are casting who have never casted before! Also, they are using two computers and are constantly on the search for games, resulting in next to no downtime as the stream switches between from computer to computer (unless they need a break, that is).

There's no way replay casting can match 20 live streams at the same time, even if you get some skype-webcam productions you have the massive coverage availability, and more importantly the excitement of live.
