I'm definitely with those people who wish Kaelaris wasn't casting alone. Although I like his casting, I find that solo casts just become tiresome very quickly compared with standard two-person ones.

You are correct

Then why are they not kicking him out of the bracket?

Can he just play for the prize money and not for the qualification ???

It is a WCS Qualifier, he shouldn't be allowed to play in it, that's just the rules.

It's also Go4SC2 #284

What happen if he beat a contender ? (I doubt it, but still)

I think failed Code A qualificants can play in NA/EU qualifier, can't they? I think it was mentioned in the Blizzard Q&A.

I am pretty sure they have to wait NEXT season. Otherwise we would have see several code B players who weren't announced in the original list play in the past qualifiers

Yeah, he can switch, but i don't know if he is locked on EU after choosing to qualify in it.

His casting is pretty good, but 5 minutes into the game he was already talkinga bout how bored and tired he was... Like come on. Other than that he is actually pretty good!

If he would have qualified he would not be allowed to play. But he didnt so he can play the EU qualifier and if he fails even the NA qualifier.

I thought that was for those that were already placed in Code S for season 1 :/

We saw last year how bad their Lans were compared to Dreamhack's.

Because Dreamhack would have to build a studio instead of casting the qualifiers. And recruit admins to get the qualifiers straight. (would have been fun to see this though)
But the biggest reason is that ESL has Carmac. Won every stone papers scissors to determine who gets EU.

ESL is boring. Their events have been boring unless they get lucky with an incredible crowd like in Katowice. Their production is boring too. ESL also has very little draw in the SC2 community. I like Kalaeris though. WCS EU will probably be a boring event that you'd only watch for the players. I hope they improve enough so that the viewers aren't left wondering about what WCS EU could have been if Dreamhack was chosen instead.

If I am not mistaken, Dreamhack doesn't have a studio where they could run the offline part, as opposed to ESL. Basically, there was no other choice for Europe. Well, there is one small studio in Sweden, with the best SC2 observer and caster as part of it, but I am not so sure Blizz would want their WCS to have any connections with Mr. James Harding :D

No, DH does not have a studio. This is though Roberts answer:
during the WCS launch.

"Hmm, weusally build a 10.000 BYOC LAN in under a week, I wonder how long we need to build a studio..."

There's no point in doing a ESL vs DH & MLG vs NASL. Personally I think that ESL has done quite a good job during these qualifiers and I would suggest that people wait for the Premiere league broadcasting before judging. I've got a feeling that ESL will do everything they can to step it up a bit.

They hired a producer for WCS today:

Tim Sijpkens ‏@Qun 5h

Los geht's! Happy to announce that I joined @esltv. I'll produce WCS Europe and some other projects. Moving to Cologne next Monday.

Because the 'joke' is the best eSports organisation europe has to offer while Dreamhack is more or less a single event.
But i might be wrong. -_-

seriously I can't stand this stupid ESL bashing anymore. MLG is doing 1 fucking tournament as a qualification thing which will not even be broadcasted live and they even wanted to charge a fee for it. ESL is open to anybody may it be player or casterwise. By this they are of course having more flaws in their process but at least they try and cover these qualificationgrids as best as possible. How much do you usually get from Code A quali?

...and all ESL gets is hate by the community. great.

I can't find it on Blizzard's website anymore, but I remember some kind of
"Q: Can players that participated in Code A qualifiers compete?
A: Technically no, but we want to make sure that players that didn't have the information at that time are excluded..."

At the end, everyone will get to see that ESL was a bad choice(i'm pretty sure their WCS finals will be a joke compared to last year)...and hopefully Blizzard gives Dreamhack WCS next year.
