Feels great but 6 Terran of 6 and 6/6 Europeans?

Seriously this must be why I hear most complaining at lower levels of SC2, Terran seems quite dominant unless you can get a really really good player then for some odd inexplicable reason it does a polar shift, in Code S KR there are a majority Zerg now! So this is getting pretty bizarre.

Like mentioned before the strong toss and zerg players got invited for EU already. So it was likely that Terrans will qualify.

Except the terrans that qualified aren't the missing great terran players that you speak of... This is a really ridiculous defense.

Execpt Bunny all of the qualified Terrans at least had some strong showings before. Nothing groundbreaking but good enough to make them a threat to qualify on a good day.

I don't mean to say they're bad. Just saying that the argument is ridiculous. It's like saying "hey MVP and Flash aren't in code S this year, so it makes sense that Noblesse and Center should qualify."

I don't know you eliminate the top20 european non-terrans( yes it's 19 i know ) by seeding them it becomes likelier that Terrans qualify , doesn't it ? Unless you believe in the notion that the non-korean Terrans are worse than their counter parts of Zerg/Toss.

...I mean it's really clear to me, am I not getting through?
Let's keep it in GSL, you invite all the code S protoss/zerg in a tourney, and then you do qualifiers between code A players. Noblesse and Center, good players, don't automatically become MVP and Flash, great players, just because great players weren't invited. You're basically saying that Noblesse and Center should be favored over the other code A players because the code S players were invited, which makes no sense.

Starve's point is more interesting though.

My point is the European/non-korean Terrans aren't/weren't as bad as their reputation may be. Now that their odds aren't as skewed anymore as by the end of WoL it's very likely that some of the will emerge as just as strong as their counterparts from Zerg/Toss . You might see it differently but Terran has become alot more competetive at the non-korean level again for whatever reason. And it great to see. Maybe they became better but i think they've been good before just had a disadvantage in WoL .

Well WoL's end was zerg overpowered, not terran underpowered. Korean PvT was at least balanced, if not advantage terran. So your argument only works in the TvZ match-up, not in the TvP match-up.

Also I like how 5-1-0 is "competitive" in your book, that's a solid euphemism, I'll keep it for later =)

If the Korean Terrans would be dominating as well we might have an issue but they're not.

Well korean terrans aren't using this comp that much as far as I can see so it could be similar to the time when protoss could beat zerg in Korea post-patch, right before they figured out how to really do it.

Anyway I'm not positive that there's a problem, I just have doubts but it's obv as stupid to say "OMG IT'S CLEARLY IMBA" as it is to say "OMG IT'S CLEARLY SKILL". I was just there to say that the "best zerg/toss invited" argument was improper logic and proof of nothing.

I hope Xlord gets it done today, but I honestly think 1 or 2 koreans will finally make it.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Now lets see if we can find another 2 terrans to qualify, we do need more slow mech games with lots of skillful hellbats drops.

Star Wars references are funny in this tournament haha. We have a couple of (Galactic) Empire players in Happy and Kas, and one sole hero in NaNiwa playing for the (Rebel) Alliance. But then we have Feast, Dayshi and ForGG, the crew from the Millenium (Falcon).

wasnt it unlimited today? so maybe even 2048 bracket with a lot of free wins?
and if it takes too long esl already said that they might split the qualifier and continue tomorrow. for example today only until round of 64 and the rest tomorrow.

splitting into two days would be sooooo good. at least if the players are fine with that.

There are already more than 1200 players signed up and this number is growing every minute.
This is gonna be both epic and insane. 2084 bracket for just 2 spots?

I kinda wish they would have dialed back on the invites a little...

Edit: This would mean the avarage player has less than a 0,1% chance to qualify. Thats just....

5 of 6 players that qualify are terrans XD, and its well known fact that europe doesnt have good terrans except of Thorzain, Lucifron and Kas, and all 3 got invited into WCS. I dont want to talk about balance but beginnings of HotS sure looks a lot like beginnings of WoL...

Yeah Europe has tons of good Zergs and Protoss players, and oh look they are all invited, because they weren't crippled by WoL like non Korean Terrans. So they are now coming out of their bunkers to take their place.
And it is good that HotS looks like Wol in the beginning, lets just hope Blizzard learned their lesson and doesn't mess things up again.

But after today I am a tiny bit scared. This 6 Marine 1 Mine drops instead of 8 Marines, look 3 times more evil. Korean Terrans might evolve into the 4th race yet again and when the dust settles, the other Terrans will dominate Bronze again.
Already copied this style for testing, Zerg looks so helpless all of a sudden.

Yeah terran players are just bad, a 10% presentation just means the race is balanced!

I think this is the plan for today, according to ESL-Headadmin Shawn.
