The usual: Don't flame casters or players. Don't discuss balance in this or any LR thread. Don't call your fellow posters idiots. Be excited, happy and entertained. |

I`d say Rain is a more well rounded player with no weaker matchup Innovation has two crazy good matchups and one significantly weaker one He would have to get passed Rain, if he does he can take it all, but since its TvP Rain would be favoured here and Flash would also benefit getting Rain rather than the TvT monster Innovation Rain didn't really impress me in his match against Jjakji, with the exception of his nice drop defense (though admittedly on a relatively easy to defend map). I think Innovation will take this tournament quite easily. Yeah that was an awfully close series. maybe you are being sarcastic but it was not a close series, the games Rain lost he threw away completley or just missed a couple of forcefields, and in the ones he won he looked dominant during the entire games. there was never a point where they where toe to toe, jjaki never really looked dominant, it was either Rain who was completley dominant or making bad mistakes. the outcome of the series was completley based on his performance. Yes, and those mistakes factor in to his performance and at least in result made it a close series.
i think that when going into the ace match and the casters say "so this basicly comes down to if rain will manage to play standard and dominate like he did in the first games, or lose because he misses his forcewield window like in the last game, or makes some other crucial mistake", you pretty much have the opposite of a close series. and in the ace match Rain played his standard build and dominated, jjaki looked impotent during the entire last game.
the series was pretty much as one sided as one can be since every match result was the direct cause of rains decisions and play. it was not because of jjijaki it ended up a 3-2, wich might look like a close series on paper.

I wouldn't be all that surprised. I think he might defeat Life in the closest series left to play, but I don't know enough about his skills to put him above Bomber and Innovation, who I have pegged as the finalists.
Could go along with Innovation, but for history reasons i keep an eye closed on bomber bombing out again.

Life showed in the showmatch against flash that speedmedivac and widowmines dont have to be a problem. But there are certain timings some mediocre zergs cant properly respond too as of yet. So as i see it, there are two possibilities : 1. The best players are just not zerg, it's a logical conclusion (except for 2 maybe 3 zergs) 2. Zerg has problems with some timingwindow's, which they cant respond too without falling to far behind economiccaly. 3. There were only 2 Korean top tier zergs playing and one got eliminated by another Korean top tier player. Better? In Starcraft its impossible to analyse something, without pointing koreans != rest of the world. Its like NBA ~ 10 years back, before we have some good europeans in NBA.

I really wonder why so many tournaments have a "starting at this local hour" instead of a clock counting down. A really easy thing to add you think..

Hmmm
The players are bad, the casters are bad, terran is imbalanced, my fellow posters are idiots, im not excited/happy and entertained.
Nevermind, im glued to the screen 45 minutes before it even starts and can hardly wait for quarter finals. Lets see if Life can get past Last's abusive playstyle
Also very excited for rain vs innovation....raid looked ROCK solid last night, lets see if he can do it again today.

A really easy thing to add you think.. they rely on TL to do that for them, wich i dont really mind since its easier to just look at the right bar on the top of the page than having to go to some tournaments website.

Personally I'd just keep that as Rain playing better than Jjakji. If a player is impeccable up until the moment they make a huge mistake, while their opponent remains mediocre in comparison throughout, but stable and able to capitalize on that one mistake, it can still be a close series and may even end with the lesser but more stable player winning.
In short, one player may outclass another, but a close result is still a close series—it may be just one more big mistake away from a loss.

Flash vs Parting and Rain vs Innovation up first.
After that it's Bomber vs MC and Life vs Last. After that all games will be on the red stream.

I wouldn't put Last anywhere near Life's level in terms of skill, I think he will get smashed 3:0 and at best take one game.

The matchup I'm most looking forward to is Bomber's, I really want to see if it's the amazing creative Bomber who gives his opponent no chance or if it's the full bomber-bomber who nukes his own army and HSMs out of range and gets all ravens fungaled.
