Yes, doom & gloom is popular on forums. But EG-TL is going to win this match, mark my words. Well if there are any EGTL fans left after today's match, may I suggest some other teams that could use the support of undying optimists such as yourselves: Team England, Arsenal, the Toronto Maple Leafs...

Apparently Pro League isn't Dreamhack, gotta try harder They keep losing, even with a 90% korean line up, only players who play in PL aer stephano and thorzain, and even thise play only few games good one XD

When they play in PL i only got a good feeling when Taeja, Hero, Stephano and maybe Revival are playing. Players like Huk, Thorzain, Puma, JYP and Zenio always seem like an automatic loss even if their match record doesn`t say so. With that said, Taeja and Hero haven`t been on their top level for weeks.... Why do people always blame JYP? He has a 10-10 record in proleague and he was not expected as an ace player. No player got more than 10 wins for EGTL (Hero got 10 as well). IMHO JYP and Stephano are the only players on EGTL who perform as expected. The problem is that Hero, Taeja and Jaedong don't have a winning record (and thus better record than JYP). Hero is 10-11, Taeja 6-6 and Jaedong 7-10. Especially Jaedong has been massively overrated ever since he played WoL (joining EG certainly helped). He never has been a WoL star, neither in GSL nor in proleague. And btw Revival started well, but lost everything since then and his overall record is 4-8.

Proleague is a whole different ball game than the rest of SC2, even GSTL isn't entirely comparable. Proleague is where the money comes from for the Kespa teams, all of their focus is being able to snipe all the key players to win a match. With a line up as thin as EG-TL's it's incredibly easy for other teams to do. EG-TL players apparently still aren't used to the sniper style practice. Most of them, for the last 3 years, have practiced with the mentality to be solid and well rounded players in order to make it to the finals of a marathon style tournament rather than meta-gaming and sniping certain pros to take a key game here and there during a clan war. I don't think in the last 4 matches with Stephano, he hasn't gone up against anything other than Zerg. At an MLG or a Dreamhack, if players like Stephano, Hero, or Taeja didn't make it out of group stages or didn't make it to the final day of play, it's a disappointment. They've all won several tournaments and all have crushed team leagues at one point or another. This is all speculation of course, I don't really know what goes on in their team house. For me, it's sad to see fan favorites fail to pull through. [edit]: phrasing

Let's say they have 8 players to play. Number of possible permutations for 6 players lineups are 8!/2!=20160, then multiply the possible ace players, the total number of possible lineups are 20160*8=161280. That's about 3840 seasons. Looking forward to see what other excuse you will find after 3840 years.

This poll implies that performing worse is possible :D ofc it is possible, EG-TL won 7 out of 19. If they win 2 straight games, they are possibly in playoff spot.

Zerg verse Terran you can't be as aggressive and eventually you do have to turtle and try to get that deathball, zvp is just worse for it as you almost have to go turtle mode as really the only ways you can be aggressive verse toss in wol is to pretty much hope toss messes up forcefields. I have said it before and I will say it again, I would judge Jaedong based on how he does in hots within the next few months after release. WoL does NOT fit his play style at all. He is not the type of player to sit back, make a ton of spines and try to get a deathball. Hots zerg is very different from wol zerg (you can be aggressive, you don't have to go broodlords anymore) and this is when imo jaedong will shine. I agree, JD was always very meticulous and aggressive in his play. I guess there is still hope then.
