I'm not sure they would even consider it personally. The whole notion of locking down their players in a weekly schedule league in Korea for half a year or longer seems inconsistent with how these organizations operate and what they need their players to do.

They probably gave it a go this season because they thought they still had the edge on most other teams' lineups and it generated some hype initially.

I think the original 7 Proleague teams seem to take preparation for Proleague much more seriously than EG-TL seems to. From what I have read, the 7 originals prioritize Proleague above everything else, even GSL and individual tournaments.

If, say, Taeja and Stephano focus on other tourneys too, of course EG-TL won't do as well.

All of that is debatable. Fantasy beat Flash in ONE Bo5 while they both did very well in Proleague. Jangbi won two OSLs, but was pretty mediocre in Proleague, which is the only place that Bisu has been good for years. Jaedong was showing a lot of weakness and looking worse than Zero, but it's not like Soulkey was putting up incredible results either.

Also, no idea why you're saying that Fantasy is doing better than Flash in Starcraft 2. Flash has already advanced in code A (against a very tough opponent) while Fantasy has yet to do so, and Fantasy has lost 7 straight games in Proleague now.

Most of their good players are Korean, they have to play in some kind of team league.

The kespa players are surpassing them, it's pretty straightforward.

I think they should replace trOt with a new head coach for round 4. He has clearly failed with this team and as hots will be played in round 4 it's a good time to start over. Why is he not picking stephano to play at least to avoid embarrassing looses like tonight?

the elephant article was written in a time when the likes of nestea were dominating sc2, along with the terran rain etc. guys like creator, life etc are new talents, not something the elephant article considered.

wow, 4-0'd? I didn't expect that result. Was hoping that at least Jaedong won his game >< EG-TL is definitely not performing up to par but I do have to wonder if its due to their (non-existant?) training regimen. As mentioned, the other teams take proleague seriously above all other leagues but I get the feeling that EG-TL players aren't. That or they already reached their limit and the KeSPA players have already caught up to them and surpassing them which is quite possible. I guess the only confusing part is how Jaedong still can't seem to play ZvP correctly. I didn't see the game but from the comments, it seems he made corrupters and never morphed them into BLs then lost them all to archons? :O

yeah always blame the coach. cause like always the beloved players can't do anything wrong.

it's not the coach faults if people don't fucking perform like they should be.

The EGTL-Roster isn`t stacked with mass great players at all.
When they play in PL i only got a good feeling when Taeja, Hero, Stephano
and maybe Revival are playing. Players like Huk, Thorzain, Puma, JYP and Zenio
always seem like an automatic loss even if their match record doesn`t say so.

With that said, Taeja and Hero haven`t been on their top level
for weeks....

I don't really care about EG-TL as a team, but it's immensely disappointing seeing Jaedong continue to be sub-par. He unquestionably has the work ethic, and most definitely has the mechanics to succeed...so why isn't he? Why is he so much better in ZvZ (2x the winrate) than ZvT or ZvP? I can't wrap my head around the x-factors that are holding him back overall and in certain matchups.

I feel like EGTL is falling behind in proleague because they just don't have enough people to practice with in Korea... I feel like if everyone from EG and TL were in Korea they would be doing much better than they are. Then again I could just be a sad fan who is grasping at straws

cause mechanics win you ZvZs. in ZvT and ZvP not so much.
and he was always known for being a good mechanic player and not the little genius. (ofc smart player but still.)
