TvT is great because it's TvT. Back during the GomTvT days we had some amazing mech styles, incredibly technical marine/tank, and guys like Polt and Boxer who were really good with bio styles. There's a reason people are so negative about SC2 now as compared to 2011, and it's because we at least had good games back then even if Terran was taking up half of the spots in Code S. ZvZ is absolutely awful by comparison, and watching Zergs win all the tournaments by fungaling and slowly drifting brood lords around in the non-mirrors is not fun for anyone.

HoTS is going to be only hellbat drops and speed medvac abuse for couple patches after release anyways.

TvT was only boring at the Viking Tank Area when there were stalemates only.
Marine Tank is always great to watch at a high level.

Bogus did a doom drop in the main after Taeja dumped everything off on that attack and he couldn't resupply correctly.
Yeah, he was transitioning to air, and he had a lot of tanks to defend himself until he made that transition. I don't understand why he moved out and left himself so vulnerable to kill off a planetary that was mostly mined out.

High level both is brilliant lol. TvT got ruined by three base mech turtling, and ZvZ got ruined by roach blobs. When neither happens they're both brilliant but seeing 100's of them in a row was boring.

Yeah headbashing does work a lot of the time because players don't usually expect you to just fuck it and go nuts. Unless you're perfectly prepared for it and react perfectly to it, it's rather easy to just die to it.

Well, tbh there were a lot of boring, stale games back then too. I think the problem is just that any strat/matchup/metagame stuff, no matter how exciting, gets dull when you watch it over and over and over.

People were complaining about TvT all the time, and ZvZ can be absolutely incredible. 2011 was incredible because of the insanely good TvZ games, PvZ and PvT were absolutely horrid. Watching protoss deathball into getting slaughtered by roaches was disgusting, and watching protoss deathball into carpet emps was also disgusting.
