Hopefully Innovation takes it, but like others said they probably havent even played HOTS so if they went to the finals it probably would be more or less onesided against them.

Bogus is STX's Proleague ace and has been busy advancing in and practicing for GSL, I don't think he had time to play enough HotS to look good.
Baby a little less so, but he'll probably still suck at HotS if the other games are anything to go by, Kespa just hasn't switched at all, like every relevant Korean team.

This was mentioned two nights ago as well, and the general consensus is that while Parting may be practicing a fair bit of HoTS, he's probably playing at least 50% WoL given his upcoming GSL matches. But yeah, Parting's knowledge seemed much greater than for example herO's did. Of course, Parting might just be a boss and good enough to instantly win in a new game...

Three steps (that aren't very obvious) from www.majorleaguegaming.com
1. Put your mouse over Pro Circuit->click on Winter Championship March 15-17th (these matches are qualifiers for the Championship)
2. Click on Starcraft 2 on the left side of the screen to bring down a drop-down menu
3. Click on either Winter Season Showdown Broadcast Schedule or Winter Championship Qualified players
Also in the OP there is a schedule for the rest of the week and VOD links to previous matches (currently qualified players are listed at the bottom of the OP as well)

Yeah, and it's not like the same thing doesn't happen in WoL. Taeja v MKP - mass hellion v proxy hellion drop. Ended up roughly the same kind of a baserace.
It's just that the same builds line up. I think the meta won't even change that much: FE into fast viking should shut this down the same as it does a banshee as without the medivac the hellbats cannot engage anything.

This reminds me of MLG Anaheim 2011, except this is more stupid. I think Hellbats seem a little bit too overpowered in this build of the game. Too difficult to stop and does too much damage. Just stopping SCVs from mining for a good 30 seconds is more than enough damage. I dunno, but I didn't really like what I saw from both games.

It'll be sad if Hellbats get nerfed without at least a bit of time for people to try come up with some solutions, they're about the only worthwhile new thing for T atm as it is.

Terran strat in TvT: hellbat drop ; terran strat in TvZ: hellbat drop ; terran strat in TvP: hellbat drop. Thanks MLG for organize events on a beta which is not balance for the moment . You should wait one or two month after the release before switching to Hots.

This, people are reading entirely too much into just the two games here.
That being said I think Hellbats are a touch to strong, I think if the just get rid of the bio tag they will be perfect imo.

Indeed, people are going really quick about pulling the OP-card..
Marauders, smart positioned turrets/mines and tanks with a decent opener could easily deal with this kind of strat.
Also I don't think TY has played much HotS..

I finally figured out what's so bad about Hellbat drops. The way the clunky hellbats chase the SCVs around. It reminds me of children running away from a big bad clown with flamethrowers.

I guess those guys barely played HOTS and were just told to do this because it's fairly easy to do and forces short games so your lack of game knowledge isn't as much of an issue. At least I hope that is the case.

Baby already pretty much held it that game, while being aggressive himself. It might take a bunker in the main, but hellbats that early are a pretty heavy investment already.

I'm figuring these guys haven't played much of HotS, both being in Proleague and Innovation in Code S on top of that and all.
They only know this strat because it's pretty popular and they have no idea what else to do.
Just look at all those games, they're actually trying to figure out how to counter this while playing.
Experienced beta testers won't be troubled by a 4 hellbat medivac rush, it's not that hard to hold.
People are freaking out because pro's are having problems against something, always happens..

Yeah, but can't you get 1 viking and 1 widow mine out fast enough? In game 2 you could see that if those two shoot once the medivac dies. Although ofc it's a bit of gamble, since you don't know exactly where the medivac comes from. ^^

I really don't mind gameplay like this tbh. Same thing with having to build an early ebay + turret vs Oracles in TvP. As long as everyone is preparing for something I think it can make for a pretty dynamic early game.

Yeah I agree. Slower expansions aren't the death of a game where the early and mid game have pretty much been wiped out.
