Fuck. :S
both TSL3 finalists out and they were both upsets... damn >,<
i would say the nani loss was an upset. but this wasn't really.
difference being jrecco is unestablished going up against the strongest foreigner (1st or 2nd)
hasuobs is established and if you see his recent results is doing quite well for himself.
Neither were surprising.
Nani's PvZ was looking abysmal leading up to his series (losing pretty much every series after GSL) so I saw that one coming, and while I would say Tzain was the favourite here, having Hasu as the winner was just as, if not more likely as long as he'd be allowed to play in his comfort zone, which he was definitely allowed to do every game here today.

truly a bad tournament for sweden....
sase naniwa thorzain and lalush all out first round °-° oh and bischu too
It's a bad period for Swedish players for some reason. Sase and Nani have been in horrible shape, Thorzain not that good, Lalush and Bischu losing was not really surprising. The only player in any kind of shape is SortOf who is not that exciting to watch. Something is rotten in the state! I'm hoping they can come back in form.
Hum, a bit disappointed with thorzain's play. Overproducing vikings and being way too passive the whole series.
A bummer that many of the players I cheered for went out. Naniwa, Thorzain, Ret, Sase and Mana all out. But I still have me some Taeja! I just hope we'll see more close games the rest of TSL, far too many one-sided series.
Well, Vikings won't help much against colossi if you allow them to go up to 3/3/3. Especially not if there are a lot of Stalkers to take care of the Vikings.

The race just isn't balanced around that kind of playstyle.
The spoon style can work against zerg, it's kind of like this ultra pseudo contain, keep zerg to one corner and take the rest and slowly advance with that 2 corner advantage. Highly map dependent ofc but it can work very well.
It could work when Ghosts had a useful Snipe, now I don't see how you can withstand Broodlords/Corruptors/Infestors/Queens armies with such a passive style.
It can work, the spoon style though is just far too "If" dependent, if it's the right map, if the opponent does X and not Y, if he can do Z,Q,D. It's an excellent approach to TvT which has netted him some big TvT wins but against players as patient as him it can be fairly self defeating.

The EG curse is such bullshit, its conveniently used whenever an EG players looses, for some reason its never used when we kill everyone at fighting game tournaments, or when Puma stopped loosing games outside of Korea, or when Thorzain won WCS Sweden, or HuK won MLG Orlando and top 4 at other MLGs, or when Idra won IEM, got top 4 at MLG Orlando and that ASUS invite tournament, or the fact that JYP has pretty clearly improved under EG.
