Incontrol is an amazing host?! Like this guy can do it all...

Also Thorzain looks genuinely moved by his win.

Thanks.

Have to say that it would've been smart of them to take the aluminum-wrap and metal-thingy off the champagne bottle before they gave it to him. Makes it much less awkward if he can just shake it and open it in like 5 secs.

Sorry Grubby - SortOf will need more time and results to prove he is more than patch-byproduct.

2-1 Vipro

2-0 Cytoplasm
2-1 Bischu
2-0 Sase
2-0 Naniwa
2-0 Seiplo
2-1 Thorzain
1-2 Thorzain

15-7

pretty legit imo

No kidding, I mean, the queen patch didn't do that much to ZvP, and didn't impact ZvZ (and that win over Cyto is fairly notable). Taking out Sase and Naniwa? Impressive stuff.

Also multiple pros have said Sortof is on the way to become the next big sc2 player coming out of Sweden (before this competition), so it's not just Grubby who believes in him.

Congrats to Thorzain. He edged a tight finals and ended up the Swedish Champion!

Well done to SortOf and Seiplo too for qualifying for the Euros.

This was great, thanks to WCS, Blizzard and everyone involved in such awesome entertainment.

what are you talking about? First of all, this is in sweden not america lol, second that just how a double elimination tournament works, everyone gets an extra life, thorzain still had his so he could afford to drop a series

Well Blizzard is an american based company and I am pretty sure they were at least part of the decision to use these rules...Yepp I kno that is how it works and this final was amazing but it still lame to have a final where u start with such an advantage! U don't see an ordinary sports league do this...why? Cuase it would kinda kill a lot of the hype

You think that ordinary sports don't use double elimination? Wow. Just wow. This wasn't even extended series. If anything, this is an argument FOR extended series.

Well I can't recal seeing it any major sports. I will however admit I am not really into baseball so I wouldn't know about that.

Oh god, are people complaining because they don't understand the basic concept of Double Elimination? And then somehow blaming Americans for it?

Which ordinary sports use double elimination?

There might be some obscure ones that do, but it doesn't come even close to being a recognized standard anywhere that actually matters. It's just messy, unelegant, and produces awkward scenarios.

Congratulations, ThorZaiN! Seems like a good arena for him to win at.

And wow, SortOf took out both NaNiWa and SaSe. *tiphat*

Double elimination? No. Every major cup and tournament in football is single elimination outside the early group stages, which are round robin.

They do when played in Bo3 or longer series.
