Have to say that it would've been smart of them to take the aluminum-wrap and metal-thingy off the champagne bottle before they gave it to him. Makes it much less awkward if he can just shake it and open it in like 5 secs.

There might be some obscure ones that do, but it doesn't come even close to being a recognized standard anywhere that actually matters. It's just messy, unelegant, and produces awkward scenarios.

Double elimination? No. Every major cup and tournament in football is single elimination outside the early group stages, which are round robin.
