Yeah that's very true, but the super late-game carrier transition in PvZ has been popular at the highest level for a couple of months now. ( since they changed carrier ai it got much better ) Yet I still see all these posts " Carriers are good? WTF? "

This. I remember a couple of weeks ago, he tried to stream on Twitch one day, but he was having big lag issues. He lost that game and then stopped streaming.

Stephano had been bulldozing through top level Protosses lately while Oz hasn't looked too good though. None of MKP or a few top Korean zergs are present in this event and those are probably the only players I would favor to win against Stephano these days.

Yeah, and I think it's really interesting how he beat Stephano twice considering that MC and Hero, probably the best PvZers, couldn't take out Stephano in NASL. I don't know exactly what OZ is doing correctly, but beating Stephano in the late game is impressive.

It's more that for carriers to be good, you need to have a really solid econ (enough to make that gargantuan transition and trade cost-ineffectively against the smaller Z air force). It's not common to see P with the crazy econ advantage, especially against someone of Stephano's level. Oz's lategame is pretty damn good.
It still feels weird to me to see carriers do anything, but Ps are getting better at dragging out the lategame to that point.

Turns out carriers are good when Zerg goes 20+ brood lords. It's almost as if top tier Zerg units can't attack air, and overmaking them can cost zerg the game.

i don't get what shiori is talking about in this thread with stephano needing to be less predictable. you do fail to realize that as the metagame advances more and more, you're going to see less and less uniqueness, right? people are going to figure out what works and what doesn't, stephano has a style of play that works very, very well for him, and chooses to completely fine tune that style, instead of doing other styles (most of the time).
thats why sc2 in its infancy was a cheese/all in fest. nobody knew what worked, nobody knew how to safely macro, so you just made shit and hoped it worked.
if you're determined to hate stephano, fine, and i know as well as you do the fanboyism gets annoying as fuck, but don't start saying stuff like predictability is why he lost. he lost because he got outplayed, simple as that.
