Brood War requires more actions, but because of the better pathing you can move ground units around much faster than in Brood War. Just getting fifty units down a ramp would take tens of seconds in Brood War.

But the speed of the fights themselves are much slower. That is why BW is much more back and worth. For SC2, 1 engagement can decide the game.

Units are also more efficient and smart. Haven't you ever played a game with like 2 control groups of dragoons going the wrong way past a crack or something? that doesn't happen in SC2, units stay close and kill everything. (the kespa guys agree) Macro is a lot easier, though, because they added MBS, automine, and unlimited control groups
