Mvp cheesing just to me signifies that he is a completely well-rounded player, who is unpredictable, it also might indicate that he doesn't want to play long games because of his wrists, but the fact is Mvp is and always has been a better player than NaNiwa. there is a reason Flash was called the cheddar terran and still revered, his cheeses were borderline abusive i think that was also partly due to the fact that no player would ever want to get into a late game macro war with him without having a significant advantage. He was also first known for cheesing bisu (much to my chagrin) and actually was sort of a bad cheesy player at one point.

If you really think MVP can only cheese then stop running your mouth on these forums, go back and watch some GSL videos from past seasons. He didn't get all his titles by cheesing his way to first place.

I said that the way MVP won doesn't make him a better player than his opponent. I'm not gonna enter a contest to find out who the best is between Naniwa and MVP. Pointless. Winning a BO5 (regardless of how you win) makes you the better player. Well I don't agree, but there again it's very relying on the way you define what " better " is. I don't think that debate would be relevant here.

I don't think that debate would be relevant here. This is an easy argument to win. Their is no grey area. If you are better than your opponent, you will beat him. MVP is obviously better than Naniwa, as he beat him. Not taking anything away from Naniwa, losing to a 3 time GSL champion and the player with the most impressive resume in sc2 is nothing to be ashamed at. But he lost, he is not the better player. Especially when you consider the fact that MVP is injured. Their is only winning and losing in this game. That was one of the reasons MKP's kong curse was so huge, he could never win when it mattered. That competitive part of the game is the life of the game. The better player wins. Whether that is through mind games, pure micro ability, pure macro ability, or being the better player in all aspects, the better player wins, as long as its more than a best of 1. It's irrelevant if Naniwa is a "better" player, MVP is the one moving on to the round of 4. Honestly, Parting beating OZ really screwed up my predictions for how this season was going to play out. I was thinking Taeja was going to go up against OZ in the finals and win, but now hope Hero manages to make it through, because I highly doubt Taeja can beat Parting in TvP. Parting is just too damn good. Although Taeja winning against Parting would be amazingly epic. I just want a Liquid player to win! Well, I wouldn't be sad if MVP won, but I don't see him having the endurance to win the finals, if he can somehow take down Parting.

I think most of the people whining hard about mvp were super-casuals in European/U.S. timezones who probably tune into the GSL about once a year... Nobody who actually knows about the SC2 scene is actually doubting mvp's prowess.

I don't think I agree with you and it's certainly not as black and white as you make it seem. I define 'better' as winning a best of N where N approaches infinity. For example, if you were to ask who had better TvP, MKP or JJakji? The answer is who would have a higher winrate in a boN against a weighted average of protoss players and types. Winning a bo5 against one player doesn't even show who is the better in a head to head, let alone 'better' in general (which would be an average of ones winrates in all matchups, I guess). And I'm a huge Mvp fan, and do think he is better than Naniwa, so I'm not just arguing with you because we like different players ![]()
