I think you have, and I support the Seeker Icon Initiative!

The difference between if NaNiwa won with cheese against Mvp is that Mvp is known and has proven he is the very best when it comes to macro mechanics and late-game pushes, his late-game stats echo that when they throw it up on the GOM cast.

Mvp cheesing just to me signifies that he is a completely well-rounded player, who is unpredictable, it also might indicate that he doesn't want to play long games because of his wrists, but the fact is Mvp is and always has been a better player than NaNiwa.

there is a reason Flash was called the cheddar terran and still revered, his cheeses were borderline abusive

i think that was also partly due to the fact that no player would ever want to get into a late game macro war with him without having a significant advantage.

He was also first known for cheesing bisu (much to my chagrin) and actually was sort of a bad cheesy player at one point.

MVP has always been known for his VARIETY of builds. He cheeses more in TvP than the other two match-ups, but you're insane if you think MVP can't play late-game. I'm sure he would prefer avoiding it because of the current late-game TvP status and his wrist issues, but I wouldn't count him out on it.

If you really think MVP can only cheese then stop running your mouth on these forums, go back and watch some GSL videos from past seasons. He didn't get all his titles by cheesing his way to first place.

Smarter, not better. I totally agree with what MVP did, he's there to win and thus, did exactly what he had to. But to me, it doesn't make him a better player.

You're delusional if you think naniwa is better than mvp. Smarter is better -.-

Ok dude, i never said that Naniwa is better than MVP. I said that the way MVP won doesn't make him a better player than his opponent. I'm not gonna enter a contest to find out who the best is between Naniwa and MVP. Pointless.

Winning a BO5 (regardless of how you win) makes you the better player.

Well I don't agree, but there again it's very relying on the way you define what " better " is. I don't think that debate would be relevant here.

Todays results is just a foreshadow of Parting's Championship.
4-3 vs Squirtle Grand Finals. Calling it now.

Edit: Eich, read the interviews and Parting already predicted him winning the championship 4:3 agaisnt Squirtle. Smart guy.

I think Seeker should have a "Feel free to send me a new banner. If i don't get one I will use this standard one" icon. And yeah, that would definitely not be too long, no, not at all.

dont take a bunch of frustrated and sad swedes too serious, lol

next round they gonna be like GOGO MVP again, supporting the player they know is a true champion.

bashing players like MVP and aLive for being incredible good at executing a bunker push, and timing push in general doesnt really make them look smart anyway, since everyone knows they are known as some of the best Macro players in the world.

This is an easy argument to win. Their is no grey area. If you are better than your opponent, you will beat him. MVP is obviously better than Naniwa, as he beat him. Not taking anything away from Naniwa, losing to a 3 time GSL champion and the player with the most impressive resume in sc2 is nothing to be ashamed at. But he lost, he is not the better player. Especially when you consider the fact that MVP is injured.

Their is only winning and losing in this game. That was one of the reasons MKP's kong curse was so huge, he could never win when it mattered. That competitive part of the game is the life of the game. The better player wins. Whether that is through mind games, pure micro ability, pure macro ability, or being the better player in all aspects, the better player wins, as long as its more than a best of 1. It's irrelevant if Naniwa is a "better" player, MVP is the one moving on to the round of 4.

Honestly, Parting beating OZ really screwed up my predictions for how this season was going to play out. I was thinking Taeja was going to go up against OZ in the finals and win, but now hope Hero manages to make it through, because I highly doubt Taeja can beat Parting in TvP. Parting is just too damn good. Although Taeja winning against Parting would be amazingly epic. I just want a Liquid player to win! Well, I wouldn't be sad if MVP won, but I don't see him having the endurance to win the finals, if he can somehow take down Parting.

kind of interesting when people said Naniwa was practicing super hard for this. i know he said he was playing 60 games a day, but was he not getting cheesed at all? i feel like he should've been able to handle it better, or realized he can't play that greedy and be safe vs cheese. if he's gonna be greedy he needed to practice his opening vs all kinds of cheese

I think most of the people whining hard about mvp were super-casuals in European/U.S. timezones who probably tune into the GSL about once a year... Nobody who actually knows about the SC2 scene is actually doubting mvp's prowess.

I don't think I agree with you and it's certainly not as black and white as you make it seem.

I define 'better' as winning a best of N where N approaches infinity.

For example, if you were to ask who had better TvP, MKP or JJakji? The answer is who would have a higher winrate in a boN against a weighted average of protoss players and types.

Winning a bo5 against one player doesn't even show who is the better in a head to head, let alone 'better' in general (which would be an average of ones winrates in all matchups, I guess).

And I'm a huge Mvp fan, and do think he is better than Naniwa, so I'm not just arguing with you because we like different players
