Its kind of ridiculous how I can barely ever watch it because I get paywalled constantly, randomly even though I have a membership and am logged in on MLGPro and Twitch... :|

Wish I could be watching

Heart, DRG, Parting are tied. So they became the mini pool and are decided by map scores between the 3.
Heart: 4-2 (3-0 Parting, 1-2 DRG)
DRG: 3-3 (1-2 Parting, 2-1 Heart)
Parting: 2-4 (2-1 DRG, 0-3 Heart)

So Heart and DRG went through.

Should be the proper explanation.

What was amazing on this day when watching was realizing just how good MC had to play to beat MKP.
The stuff he did with his warp prism and that one DT was amazing, and even though he controlled the game for such a long time he had to wait and wait and wait to slowly amass enough of an advantage to actually be able to kill him.
MKP is scary.

I had to catch up on the 2v2 cause of the UFC fight. Holy hell that was hilarious. JP, one day you should do an in depth interview about your 2v2 career on SotG. I would find it fascinating.

Still doesn't make sense. Heart has 10 wins while parting and DRG both have 9. Also why do they have a 4-6 and 3-5 seed matchup? o_O

tbh: i dont understand at all, why these 3 players are tied... It's just Parting and DRG that are tied - Heart is 10-11 in maps, they are 9-12... I mean, they had all 3 maps played in each match so that the mapscore can be better used for tie situations, right?
so they should please use the mapscore for the ranking, everything else doesnt make any sense at all.

map score isn't the first way of ranking the players. Its series records. Heart, DRG and Parting all went 3-4. Hence the 3 way tie. Then it goes h2h (MLG rules). DRG beat Heart, Parting beat DRG, Heart beat Parting. So h2h doesn't determine the tie break. Per MLG rules, the next tie breaker is the map score of each player among games vs each other. Heart went 4-2 against DRG and Parting. DRG went 3-3 against Heart and Parting. Parting went 2-4 against Heart and DRG. Therefore, Heart and DRG finish 5th and 6th respectively.

And you don't go map score first because a player can go 14-7 and win every series (7-0) while another guy can go 10-4 and and lose 2 series (5-2). Technically the 10-4 record is better going just off map score. But that guy never should be first in the group over the guy who went 7-0

everybody understands how they handled it...
and dude, nobody said that they should just take the map score for the ranking.
But it should be...
1. series score 2. map score 3. h2h series (4. tie group map score)

(yep, doesnt help to complain now - the rules still dont make sense, sorry^^)

I can't find the reason why would they not prefer to take the total map-score, instead of only the map-score among tied players. Overall the better player should be one that had better total map-score. Seems like a rule taken from another format that is less meaningful in this particular format. Hope they fix that for the next arena.
