Yes he (or a representative of his) should have contacted NASL. Everyone who follows his tweets knew he was on vacation since last Friday. At the time, I wondered what would happen with his scheduled NASL game this week.
What is the NASL policy on players being unavailable, but providing notice of this? Do NASL reschedule games during this phase of the tournament? Also do players who get a walkover win receive the full prize money for the win?

The games are supposed to be played today and there is no way in hell he was gonna stop his vacations to play. Games cannot be rescheduled when they are played the day they are casted. For once, he had a good reason not to show. Plus it's not like he won't make it to 2nd place anyway (assuming PuMa takes 1st)

dammit i was kinda looking forward to Puma v Stephano..

The game that wasn't played that caused NASL to get that rap was HerO vs DeMusliM from last season. Also NASL isn't stupid, if you really seriously cant play at your match time, you can schedule it in advance I'm sure. Just a lack of responsibility from Stephano.

Hiya,
Our policy is that we need at least 1 week of advance notice to arrange a reschedule. NASL games are always played either LIVE, or before the scheduled broadcast date - we never postpone games. If we allow exceptions to postpone games, we will end up having to grant everyone the same exceptions and we'll end up with a big backlog of postponed games, which is impossible with our format.
Stephano only notified us of being unable to play 3 days ago - and he said he was absolutely unable to play his match early. Players who receive walk over wins don't get prize money, and players who forfeit games are penalized (this is why we have a security deposit ... to discourage this type of behavior).
While it is unfortunate to see forfeits in the league, we do understand that it is impossible to avoid it when we have weekly matches in this kind of a format. I hope this answers your question

Thanks for the swift and detailed response! It is good to know NASL is listening.

As a viewer, I think postponing a game is better than playing it early, because the former allows for a live experience while the latter denies it. I also think that you are able to make an exception for players who have unaddressable scheduling issues without setting a bad precedent. For example, come MLG weekend, what are you going to do about all the players who're flying out and competing in MLG? You're going to get a lot of FFs with this policy.
That said, for this FF, Stephano knew the rules, and not informing the organizers until three days before doesn't give time to maneuver.

I am not Stephano's fan or something, but you people... Guy went to vacation with his FAMILY and bunch of you folks acting like he didn't play this match because he doesn't care or something.
I am sad you waited entire day for that particular match but he doesn't play for you, he doesn't own you anything and he obviously can go to skiing and shouldn't be "hated" for that.
(doesn't matter he didn't notice NASL earlier at least not for the point I am trying to make, his match wouldn't be played anyway.)

I don't care about that. But do you realize how many times he has not shown up to online tournaments.
Hell he even forfeited the finals of one tournament because he was "tired".
Almost any other pro would show more passion and gratitude for being allowed in a tournament than Stephano...

He wasn't 'allowed' into the tournament. He qualified for it, by winning games in the qualifiers including knocking out 3 Koreans. Obviously it was regrettable that he failed to give sufficient notice to NASL regarding his vacation for this week but he earned the right to compete in NASL3, same as the other players.
No-one likes a no-show and yes Stephano has done this before. However other pros have also done this and no-one has bothered crying about it. Sheth and Dimaga also missed tournament games within the past month. Do they also lack 'passion and gratitude.' MC and Naniwa previously were unable to make their games in NASL due to scheduling and tiredness. Artosis was unable to play an NASL game due to moving house, his opponent got a walkover win. Does this mean Artosis lacks 'passion'? Sometimes things happen in life and you miss scheduled appointments.
The main problems about a no-show without notification is it leaves the tournament and the scheduled opponent waiting. Stephano DID notify NASL ahead of the match, not in the contractual time-frame to prevent an auto-loss, but it meant Puma was not left waiting up for a player and being stood up. NASL have notified us viewers so we also know that this tie will not be on tonight. It is hardly a repeat of Fenix or PainUser just not turning up for an NASL match. It is just someone being unable to fit in an NASL game due to a clash of schedules.

When there are scheduling conflicts like this - we try to play games earlier in the week.

Thanks for the update and what you've said about not being able to postpone games past the broadcast dates is definitely reasonable. I do wish that you had informed PuMa beforehand about Stephano forfeiting instead of making him wait though, especially considering the time this match was scheduled.

I am sad But Still a 1-1 Stephy has a shot at making playoffs and I love PuMa at 2-0.
I will give predictions a shot.
2-1 Hwangsin > Zenio - PvZ is too crazy right now. Brat_OK 2-1 TT1 - TT1 got owned by Stephano but I bet he isn't as bad as he seemed and gets a game Cloud def Nightend 2-1
