Hello everyone! This is the official thread for the first online qualifier for IGN Pro League Team Arena Challenge 3! Here are some relevant links if you don't already know about IPL TAC3:

Only the top 2 teams will qualify for the main tournament!

The Format!
These matches are bo9 Winners Format! Teams will need to be online and ready to play at 10:00 PDT (17:00 GMT (+00:00)) on Saturday, April 14th. Please be aware that these qualifiers can and will take a lot of time. Forfeits and walkovers will be used if needed. If the finals are significantly delayed and both teams agree to play later, scheduling will be done after the semi-finals conclude. Only team managers or tournament admins may spectate matches.
Broadcast Schedule
Our casts of these Qualifiers will begin on Thursday, April 19th at 5 p.m. PDT (00:00 GMT (+00:00)) each day and will be re-broadcast at 9:30 a.m. PDT (16:30 GMT (+00:00)) the following days.

*All of our maps can be found easily by searching "IPLMap" when creating a game on NA. The first map will be determined by IPL (ro16: Atlantis Spaceship, ro8: Antiga Shipyard, ro4: Metropolis, Finals: Daybreak) and the first players for each team must be submitted to an IPL admin before the match begins.
Casters
These TAC3 qualifier games will be commentated by our in-house IGN Pro League casting team of CatsPajamas and Doa!

Rooting for aTm/ESC, but I think Rox.Kis/Dignitas and Acer will make it.
Btw. how does the system work? if you have 4 qualifiers with top-2 spots make it to the tournament each time, you will have 24 teams in the tournament - which means, you would have 3 teams in WR 4.

Rox.Kis is next to Empire the scariest team in East Europe, fielding at least one player (Titan), who can possible all-kill the three teams you mentioned.
Alternate/Type is maybe even stronger. Alternate alone has with Socke a Top-Foreigner, who recently made a really impressive run at MLG, taking out EG´s Ace PuMa and two other Koreans (one of them being Code S level). The problem of Atn was, that while the other players (Darkforce, Cloud, Delphi) are all strong, they lack depth. This changes with the partnership with Type. They get Real, who can take out anyone in the tournament on a good day and at least two additional solid players (DBS and Phoenix).
Both this teams are the same level as Dignitas and definitely above Light and Gosu.

"The deadline for applications is Wednesday, April 11th. We are not placing a cap on how many teams may enter, but we do ask that only serious teams with Masters and Grand Masters players (with a MINIMUM of 5 players) send applications. All applications will be accepted or declined at the discretion of IGN Pro League. "
At a minimum I would expect a response letting me know why we were declined and why.

I don't think RoX vs M was live on the sidebar...I believe RoX forfeit because of the MLG qualifiers that are running right now.

Since so many teams didn't show up, I have an idea for how to organize this better for the next couple of weeks:
Pick a few backup teams (maybe 4?) and if teams don't check in 30 minutes before the scheduled start time then throw in one of the backups.
Especially if you are limiting it to 16 teams per week.
For a 20$k team league it's silly to give out free wins, especially when there were teams more than willing to be ready and play.

That's probably it, still kind of surprising given that the only clash member I know are legalmind (Unfortunately for not the right reasons besides he's retired now apparently) and edge so good for them seems to be good for the unknown teams now.

Why did they play Apollo last if they knew they had to play him? Why not play him right before SeleCT or BlinG?

Well, this is the drawback of the IPL-frmat, it's easy for a team to have the one Korean to rule them all. Doesn't tell you a whole lot about the teams, to be honest.

unfortunate that Karont3 didnt make it  and that RoX were not able to play. Im really hopeful that we will see either or both do well in the upcoming qualis as I really want to see an underdog european team make it

MoOk is really good. He beat Demuslim and TT1 at IPL, lost 1-2 to CreatorPrime.

It doesn't really matter, they all had to play MoOk. Bischu was having trouble getting on NA and MoOk lags too much on EU, so they had to play Apollo in his stead.

Our team is 60% Korean. For Example, Panther killed 3 infused and Messiah killed 2 in the IMGUR league, then Messiah killed 4 NrS players to take 3rd in that league. Both are Korean (although Panther currently living in USA).

Wow the website is sooooo outdated (pasildan noxn styx are gone); we will be updating it soon as well as the liquipedia article
TTF/MoMo/SouL are all GM protoss players on NA server (living in Canada/USA)
