The foreign scene needs a superstar that demolishes koreans and shows the way, shows that it's possible to beat the top players. Stephano is on par with the majority of them but he's a tier below the absolute top still. Unfortunately the train is already starting to move and it feels like what we have is what we get when it comes to foreign players. If none of the existing players will step it up, it's very unlikely any newcomers will take such a huge leap it requires. At the moment it's steering towards SCBW all over again.

I liked the tournament, though I'm sad that stephano didn't make it past nestea. He could have put up a much better fight against alive and squirtle than the all-in cheesemaster that is nestea. Nice to see some very talented, but not very recognized, players get some time in the spotlight. Remember, the 'fan favorites' all started out this way.

Yes I know and the Koreans deserve it. But still it's bad for the tournaments. Look at Alive, he is a perfect example of why Korean players aren't as popular as western players. Shy, overly humble, doesn't speak english, that's just a culture clash.

One thing IGN really needs to do in my opinion is sort their hosts out. They had too many out of place chicks, Anna Prosser for example has no idea how to work the crowd, it felt flat everytime. You need a nerd like Day9 or 2GD.

Honestly, you should watch the entire NesTea/aLive, NesTea/Squirtle and aLive/Squirtle series, all so sick. If I had to pick one game it would be NesTea/aLive game one though.

Pretty good tournament overall. I just think we need a foreigner to take the fight to the koreans and have a win to shake things up a bit. It just that the Korean pros lack charisma but a margin. I feel happy for alive but a huk win for example would have been totally baller!

I think we need western super hero to keep us interested or it's gonna go bw again. Would be nice to have the scene be more of an even playing field.

I dont agree that Stephano is a tier below the absolutle top he lost to MMA and Marineking in there best matchup and in Stephano´s worst. His lose against Nestea I feel he should have won but no shame it happend sometimes. Stephano did amasing top 6 is incredible. Even MMM and MKP lost 2 games where they got 2-0 they are a tier below the absolut top? ofcourse not.

Nahh Stephano proved he belong to the top of the sc2 scene. I consider Stephano a top 3 zerg rigth after Nestea and DRG.

how can you even say that? Just because he does well againt the top in a one weekend tourney there are still so many better zergs. He has to prove himself in code A imo. I feel like any code a korean can give stephano a run for his money.

Had a feeling aLive would win when i went to bed after i saw him defeating Nestea, still it seems Squirtle put up a good fight .

Shame i couldn't see it all, but i knew i had to go to sleep when i almost fell asleep doing the last match between Nestea and aLive ^^
Furthermore, I think the Collosi should be removed! (Zorgaz -Terran/AbrA-Random/Zorg-Dota2) Guineapigs <3

NesTea beat both aLive and Squirtle before the finals.
The only person aLive lost to all tournament was NesTea.

I have no doubt Stephano would've put up a good fight against both Squirtle and aLive, but to 'a much better fight' is abit much.

He did great this tourney but remember there have been tourney's fairly recently in which he failed to get out of open brackets. Stephano is good, yes, and likely the best foreigner. I believe he could do well in Code A/S but until he proves himself there, it's difficult to maintain these assertions.

So I'm a little confused, did Squirtle win or did Alive win? Are there two winners? Can someone please explain this to me.

Everybody in the tournament get 2 chances.

So what happens is that:
- Alive hadn't lost a series yet.
- He lost the first series.
- He gets his second chance (Squirtle got his second chance after losing to NesTea but continuing in the losers bracket which he won after beating NesTea).
- They play a second series.
- Alive wins!
