I don't have time to watch many vods today and I missed a lot of matches. Can anyone recommend the best set of the day?

I recommend watching Alive vs. Squirtle, the first best of 5 of the finals. Also if you like watching nukes, watch game 2 of mma vs. stephano in the second round of the loser's bracket.

Thanks, I guess the finals is a good place to start as I haven't seen them yet. If anyone else wants to recommend any other matches I can probably squeeze a few more games in.

NesTea vs aLive games 1, 2 & 4 were all incredible, all must-watch'es. (Especially g1 was unbelievable)

It was a pretty nice tournament, some really entertaining games (as well as somre realy boring, like two base colossus PvT meeehhh) and I generally liked the casting, aside of some small glitches. I do not care about interviews and stuff (I mute them). The only downside was TOO MUCH DOWNTIME. Soo much ads, so much time without games (I don't like to jump from stream to stream, I want to see complete games only, otherwise I am too distracted).

But anyway, I was entertained and that was the point for me

I'm afraid to spoil the winner if I read at the end of this thread, so, could anyone PM me the link to the final match VODs please?

I went to bed after Stephano got destroyed by MMA...

But it's kinda funny that MMA is unbeatable in zvt (As far as I can tell from TLPD he hasn't lost a single series) but just completely falls apart in tvp Im pretty sure Stephano would have had a much better chance vs Squirtle than MMA.

And the games against Nestea were too bad as well. Picking Taldarim as your last map in zvz is kinda a cheap move since you don't get any scouting info so it's much more build order based.

But man! Amazing performance by Stephano! It's nice that there is atleast ONE bloody guy from outside of Korea who knows how to play this game.

Prime/aLive are the technical winners, yet StarTale/Squirtle are the moral winners, and in the eyes of the fanbase, they will probably be more remembered than their conquerors, like it or not.

Personally, going into the GSTL finals I was cheering for Prime, but leaving it, I find myself as a StarTale fan instead. Same with Squirtle, even though he lost, the killstreak he went on all the way from the open bracket to the losers bracket to taking it to a second BO5 in the finals, is just incredible, the sheer number of top tier players he knocked out is ridiculous, especially coming from someone who was pretty much only known for his PvP in team leagues. I've gained the utmost respect for the guy, and even though I would still probably say that aLive is the slightly superior overall player, what Squirtle showed us early this morning is something I'll never forget.

Good luck in your Code S groups man, I'll be cheering for you

I don't understand this either. He had a great run when you look at his matches on paper but in practice it was disgusting to watch. Especially his PvT matches and the amount of mistakes he made vs Nestea.

But in the end he got to the finals I guess so good for him.

I will also feel sorry for the community if they remember StarTale over Prime, with Prime's star player destroying ST's entire star line up.

Theres no other winner than aLive. He defeated just as many big names as Squirtle (as it has been said add the online qualifier to that) and when it mattered the most in the final BO5, he adjusted perfectly and outclassed him 3-0.
Still very good performance from Squirtle but there can be only one winner.

I don't understand the dislike of Alive. Sure Squirtle's run was great (I was cheering for him as soon as Bomber was like "Startale fighting" as he tapped out), but Alive won and he did it with multiple strategies. I think it's a shame that people are crapping on Alive's win when he hasn't done anything to deserve such a reaction from the fans.

Personally my favorite game was the regame between Squirtle and Nestea (not the fact that there was a regame but the game itself).
