The winner of IPL4 from a "who was the last player left" and person who will be getting first place prize money was alive. However A LOT of people are saying that despite his second place win, Squirtle was the real winner today because of his massive kill list

Ah ok, I wasnt sure because of people saying both Squirtle and/or aLive but that clears it up. Thank you very much

IPL4 finals reminds me of Dreamhack finals where MaNa, despite getting second place, was the big story and "winner" in many peoples eyes, while Naama never really got the praise that he deserved.

I think this tournament bodes well for Nestea's performance in the GSL this season... he did well despite playing in an marathon-length environment that he is clearly unsuited for. Can't wait to see what he can pull off with the prep time he gets for his GSL matches!
And of course, congrats to Squirtle and Alive for just crushing face everywhere lol. I think Alive will develop more of a personality as he racks up some wins, he's young still and has probably focused so hard on getting here that he hasn't had time or effort to put into being a showman. That comes later
Someone mentioned it early, but Nestea doesn't have much of a stage persona either, and people love him (myself included) -- he should probably pay royalties to Tastosis for all the PR they've done for him! haha

Haha exactly, I didn't watch the finals but I remember at DH Naama did a lot of scv train all-ins also which I knew a lot of people didn't like.

The "real winner" won the entire event. People shouldn't try to discredit Alive just because he didn't have to play through the open bracket (which is how squirtle was able to play more games). The fact that Squirtle has his "massive kill list" and still lost to Alive is clear evidence as to why he's the "real winner".

For context of his run in online qualifier: SlayersCrank, ColHeart, ZenexLife, DRG, Ganzi and puma

I feel bad for NesTea, he was so tired after that bo5 vs Alive..the first games vs Squirtle was for sure not NeaTea's best gameplay..was really sad to see, he is so much better than that.

aLive's GSL round of 48 match is against SlayerSVen(SocceR).I will cheer for Ven like there is a no another day.
GG Squirtle, you did really well.

It's a shame that nestea was burned out in the last games. he could take it all of he had less games to play;

Having stamina is part of the foreign tournaments. Nestea is lacking that a bit, probably because he travels "badly". Thx IPL, awesome tournament.

Does anyone know how I can watch Squirtle vs MKP's games? On Twitch TV I can only find the recording of stream 1 not stream 2.

He's improving massively at foreign events though, the next one he shows up to he may just win. I hope he can get into a Dreamhack; they seem far less brutal as far as sheer amount of stamina needed. These IPL/MLG events are the worse for the him.

Squirtle is my champion. The most impressive kill list ever.

can someone tell me, how did alive win his games? cheese? standard? mix?

Except missing half of the engagements because the observer was monitoring idle bases while drops and army clashes were happening all over the map...

alive played really abusive in that last series but you gotta play to win :D

I had to get some sleep after Squirtle won the first Bo3 after being down 0-2. It's sad to hear that he lost as it would have been a great ending to the story, but at least we got a great GF out of it.
I thought IPL4 was an amazing event, sans some of the sound production problems and some rookie interviewer(s) (won't mention names, bc I love them otherwise). IGN has always come through on solving their problems, so I'm already looking forward to their next event!
