Was this guy ever not in Code S? I mean seriously... fuck MC (no offense  ), Genius is pretty much the definition of most stable protoss player ever. And he has been beating top players for months now. More than once he has been MVPs ace player as far as I remember.

IMO the solution is to try and win the game at a different timing window... It's pretty much established that with the current late game plan, terran cannot defeat archon/chargelot, thus, terran's aim should be to disrupt the progression into this lategame by sniping tech and denying the 3rd, which are the two midgame pillars that late composition is supported by. I'd like to see terran try to stop protoss from reaching their ideal composition, getting to an extremely advantageous lategame situation in which 3-3 bio rapes a gateway heavy army

Not really, Genius has been in Code S longer than DRG. Floating in Code S for awhile (while impressive) doesn't stand up to DRGs recent results, especially since Genius dropped down recently (in fact I believe last season, therefore looking weaker). Once again as you can see above, Genius was not doing anything impressive for a long time, and even dropped to Code A just this past season IIRC, and then suddenly got in the finals... that is "out of nowhere" for me since nearly no one predicted he would do even close to this well. It has nothing to do with being familiar with the player, even if he was relatively stable, floating in the bottom of Code S for a long time.

I think it was actually longer than that. He won Blizzcon without getting hyped beforehand (from what I recall) and then when he came back to the GSL he only did decently for a little while. From what I recall, he did nothing but float in the bottom of Code S for most of 2011, and now beasted through so many strong players so easily this season to get to the finals.

I wouldn't say expected; he was code S caliber but there's plenty of code S players who aren't good enough to make it...prior to this GSL Genius had a reputation as a good player but not as a top-class one, which is why this is unexpected for many.

It's a pity PvT is broken, T too strong early, too hard lately.
Hope blizzard fix it and turns SC2 at the level of SC1

Yeah, i remember for a month or 2 the meta game of ZvP was " do not let toss get a third base whatever happens or you will loose". Looking back at Genius vs Alive game 3, the tank marine push & contain after 1 rax FE into a third seems interesting, but how to stop the bust out with colossi...

There's no reason to be rude to people however - both ways.
I think it's fair to say that overall Terrans are not happy with their late game options, may or may not have tried other avenues enough (futile or otherwise) and are a bit sick of being put upon by the other races by the ways that we win.
If Blizzard wants Terrans to be a race of scv/rine all ins then so be it ;p.
