I'm fairly certain the observer was pointing out that DRG had no vision of a building Nexus just as Parting moved out, and only the lings ran in after Parting moved out. Unless lings ran in once before Parting moved out?
The overlord saw the nexus the second it started to build. DRG did not see that it was cancelled until the longs got in.

Which is the other good finals so I can go watch the vods? Jjakji vs Leenock, MMA vs DRG are the only close and good finals. MMA vs MVP was extremely one-sided, but it was also really good. MMA/DRG I saw, will check out Jjakji/Leenock, thanks.

But right now, no question, after today's games, Genius is the best Protoss playing at the moment. He's now proven himself against the top PvP player, MC, top ZvP players, DRG/Nestea and top TvP players, sC and MarineKing. I really like Parting, but damn did he tilt after the first game. After the second game, he literally cried, so there was no coming back for him. I'm actually happy with any final that isn't Alive vs. Gumiho, so that's probably gonna be what happens. MC is not the top PvP player, why do people keep saying this? It's been his worst matchup for months. When he was good at PvP he would have crushed JYP 3-0 in HSC without giving him a chance. MC is still probably the best protoss. Genius needs to prove himself for a longer period of time. He's the best protoss in this GSL though. MC is pretty solid in all three matchups, which is why he gets far and is labelled the best Protoss. It's similar to Mvp's situation, there's a few players out there who have shown higher capabilities in some aspects when on form, but no-one has ever beaten the consistency of Mvp. I agree MC is the best protoss in the world, but his PvP has been shaky for months now. Whenever I see MC play, the matchup I fear the most is PvP, because in it, MC is actually like in the stone age in regards to builds. He only gets wins because of his superior execution, but in PvP build orders are way more important, which means that since he's behind in the metagame, not even his execution can save him in many situations
Except when he out Build Ordered one of the best PvPers in the world at HSC. Shits random/luck as hell.

the best game ever for me was the last game between mma and drg in the blizzard cup of the best code s'ers. that last game.. wow.. might be alive vs drg, and then drg wins. Hope they play even better than that last match before.. then this finals will be the best ever might even happen with genius vs drg! please gumibear dont ruin everything!

Do 2 Stargate cheese and Nexus cancel 4 gate against DRG in the round of 8. Sounds like a good label to me. Sorry your Protoss hero got owned hard. :p This is a funny post, because if you saw my previous post you'll see that I'm actually a lot more satisfied as a spectator this GSL than I was in the previous ones toward the end of last year. You also don't seem to realize that I'm a DRG fan and I was happy to see either move on. Your blatant provocation is cute, though. In regards to the games, sure, Parting plays cheesy sometimes, but hey, so does MVP (all-inning Protoss a ton last year) and no one called him cheeseTerran. Why? Because he also showed himself to be capable of great macro games. Same with Parting. As long as cheese isn't something you solely do, you don't deserve such a label. Seems like Parting wasn't the only one to get owned hard.

DRG played well, but parting actually shouldn't have lost those games.

I just don't understand how Genius became so good. For the entirety of 2011 Genius was just a generic above average protoss no different from tester or sangho. He started to differentiate his play late in the year with funky carrier builds but at no point could you have ever said that this guy was a threat to go far in code S. Now suddenly he's become a beast with no explanation?

So happy DRG is still in this, I hope he wins it all!

You don't realize MC was as good at PvP as NesTea was at ZvZ, then he stayed behind.

aLive just beat DRG 2-1 in IPL last week, wouldnt be surprised if he takes the season. MMA prolly was the hardest opponent out of anyone.

Protosses have learned more 2base timings and 3base turtle deathball strategies.

abit disappointing in the zvp series today
drg played unbelievably good tho

I'm riding the DRG train to the finals win. It's about time his greatness is recognized with a GSL S title!

Well, I don't know how much of this is actually true, but Genius did mention plain old motivation problems and not practicing enough. Maybe he's really buckling down and putting his mind to it with his BroRaeGu and it's just working out amazingly for him.

They did mention DRG scouted the additional units though. A player of DRG's caliber should know the attack would be coming, thus i guess there isn't really any need for them to mention that the nexus was cancelled again.

DRG and Genius is the new MVP, Nestea

There is always gona be 1-2 games in a bo7 that sucks. It had the most epic last game of all time, that's all it mattered

been impressed with DRG since watching the replays contained in the "message from korea" topic
