huk's dream got replaced by his fame ;/ If he were on Liquid his head would be on straight, EG just spoils their players and throws cash in their face to make them happy... I've seen a HuK interview where he specifically said EG will do whatever I want them to do at anytime of the day...

What are you talking about, Huk earned his way to Code S...Surprised at his bad showing today. He did. "Surprised at his bad showing today" I'm talking about this. Some of the foreign players are extremely over-rated, IMO. Every time Idra looses a games we get masses of whiners making all sort of excuses, similar for Huk, and others. I hate this "make yourself marketable" taking priority over quality/ skill. If this is the trend the foreign scene is taking, i would rather there not being a foreign scene at all. I'm not ranting against the players here, more against their teams and managers. Sorry for the rant though.
People defending their favourite players is only normal.
I dont think either of them make themselves very marketable. It certainly does not take precedence over performance in games. I think the players themselves know this more than anything.
In fact, I think this is a problem e-Sports in general faces, I believe this sentiment is also shared by a couple of people as this has been discuss on SoTG before.
HuK and Idra are gonna have fans, Idra espeically since he came from abit of a BW background. They are two very dominant player or have been very dominant in the past. Becuase of that they will naturally have lots of fans.
Are you familiar with soccer? There are many teams that have been dominant in the past. Take Arsenal for example, they arent doing all that well at the moment. Does that mean that people should stop supporting Arsenal? No, I dont thin so. The same can be said with all the other smaller teams. The same can also be said for SC2 players.
As for the opinion that foreigners are overrated. I guess, to each his own, it depends on whos rating then. For fans of HuK, his GSL performance might be evidence enough that he should succeed. He has made 1 Ro8 and a couple of Ro16s and whatnot, which leads people to believe that he does have the potential to do better. Anything less and it will be an underperformance.
However, one could easily also say that the past is no indication of the future.
What I'm trying to say is that you have a valid point. But ranting does not change anything, neither will it change the way people on TL act. Most teams/managers are the reason why people can play this game for a living, there is no point shitting on them.

What are you talking about, Huk earned his way to Code S...Surprised at his bad showing today. Well, HuK's never been good by Korean standards. He's just the best foreigner we have, but his GSL win% is worse than even players like Ensnare and FD (and by more than 5%), even though we like to make fun of those players for being shitty. He was just helped by the Code S bottleneck for the longest fucking time. As a comparison, other GSL-level Protoss players and their records in Korea:
Squirtle: 61.05% (A) MC: 60.69% (S) *Parting: 59.09% (S) Puzzle: 58.78% (S) *Brown: 57.14% (S-->A) Oz: 54.41% (S) InCa: 53.76% (S-->A) Genius: 52.94% (S) JYP: 51.09% (S-->A) Alicia: 49.18% (A) Killer: 49.07% (A) *Seed: 47.37% (A) Tassadar: 47.01% (A) cOre: 46.55% (A-->B) HuK: 45.21% (A-->B) Ace: 39.71% (A) *Avenge: 37.50% (A) HerO: 36.59% (A) *Lure: 0% (A-->B)
Look at how many of those we like to make fun of and tell me seriously that HuK's better than them.
Stars indicate those without significant amount of games played. I'm really surprised at Squirtle's win%, actually; I know he's only just recently made it back to Code A, but even so, as someone who's commonly played in teamleagues and participates against (at the very least) other Code A level players in the Weekly and such, that's pretty ... surprising.

At least July's career's not over yet !!!

Is lack of practice punished in progaming houses? It seems like it should be.

Very happy day for me!! Sen is definitely a total baller and it makes me sooo happy to ser him win! While at the same time both Idra and Huk are overrated as hell and I'm happy to finally see them out of the GSL.. Great news!!!

i guess they are switching over because LoL is alot less stressful to play than sc2. and if they get paid the same who wouldnt want to play the game thats easier and less stressful.

Ya, quite simply team games are far less stressful. That's why newbies like playing 2v2s upwards but get scared at the sight of the 1v1 Find Match button.
Same reason why games like DotA and Tf2/other FPS team games are so popular, because there's less stress/pressure and more casual teamwork.

HuK lost one map by playing PvZ against mutas. Being 0-1 by default kinda hurts.

Being a fan of all kinds of sports I seldom like the richest teams, as they tend to buy their way to glory instead of obtaining it trough hard work and determination. I think its a good thing for SC2 that the two evil geniuses got knocked out, there are so many players who just practice all day long, they deserve the shot at GSL so much more! Gogo Jinro get back where you belong!

they are still human beings, they like to play fun games.
LoL is a much worse game right now to play serious in. No tourneys, and very small price pool. There is almost no way to make yourself known too without joining a big team because there are no open tourneys, every tourney is invite only

It didn't seem to me that HuK couldn't have won his games, he just got bad luck with the map pool and couldn't scout the cheese in the third game. Idra on the other hand played awful and his opponent didn't do anything amazing either. He probably got tilted after losing to that 2 base timing in the first set, beacuse his decision to go mutas in the second game was really weird.

Only watch sc2 when Idra plays...

LOL!! He had no problem winning the 1st map against Mutas by turtling hard enough, then pushing out with his deathball. The Muta whining is beginning to get really obnoxious at this point, since there are plenty of examples of people winning against Mutas, including some games played today!!
