You might get lucky and win 1-2 early rounds, but when you get to bo5 or bo7 you get rolled by better players, because you practiced all ins instead of macro games all that time.

How is forcing 2base vs 2base and then retreating to expand an all in?

If you don't kill the expo you're basically going to lose since your own 3rd will be really late. That case the all-in succeeded.

I thought Toss could play 2base vs 3base PvZ. It's funny how you can't attack someone without teching/expanding at the same time (making the attack less forceful), or it's an all-in. It's not like zerg can tech and expand while you're attacking him either.

exactly what I was thinking, not sure why artosis liked the muta transition lol

To be honest, the game was over at that point. When he killed the third, and escaped with his army, it was done. Unless Genius really messed up.

Muta's can force mistakes out of players that don't have a lot of patience though, so i think the idea was good. There wasn't really anything else he could have done. Either crawl back into the game with Muta's, or play from behind with standard roach/infestor/corruptor. I think DRG has faith in his muta control :p

What happens in the alternative scenario? Mutas pop up that much faster before blink is in play and you can't get your third due to a risk of roach ling shennanigans*. Very strong 2 base pushes make a ton of sense. Ofc so much has changed since I watched a lot <<

How come we never credit Genius for being a former CJ proish player? Sangho used to get all sorts of hype despite never ever looking quite... well good in Sc2

I wasn't saying it was a bad idea from genius, simply that it was an all-in. People seem to be hearing things I never said. Sometimes all-ins are very good strategies. That said I don't buy the idea that 2 base all-in is the only thing a Protoss can do. Take your own third and macro up. If the zerg is going for mutas, just stay on 3base with stalkers in your base, get blink, max out, throw down lots of cannons to deny base-race then push out. Your army will be much stronger than the zerg's.

A player with a 50% win rate would win 75% of sets when they win the 1st game (bo3 of course) being less than 75% is not to weird.

He had 45 probes and no tech except a stargate. It's an all in because if he doesn't do huge damage he will lose the game.

Thats what we call "aggression."

You really think its smart for a Protoss to challenge a zerg economically?

Aggression? I guess you meant pressure, but that is when you build probes behind it and intend to take a 3rd base. Genius didn't do that while he was attacking, so it's an all in.

Stargate to make sure you cant die to a raochling bust. Pheonixes to see if the stargate opening can do some such. Augments main push.

6 gate to pump the units for the third or put on pressure for the kill. Add Citadel for blink and +2....

Perfect time to eal with a Muta zerg?

It's black or white isn't it? There apparently is no aggression which is neither pressure nor an all-in to you. Then I can see how you classify this as an all-in.
