Do you guys who are bashing foreign seeds realise how many people bought tickets and/or tuned in JUST to watch Idra/Sen? GOM knows it, hence why they left Idra to be the last person to be introduced at the beginning. Yeah it's a business but they've also arranged for themselves to be the most serious league with the toughest competition. They lose some of that when they seed players based on popularity. Totally worth the money and exposure. And I'd wager that inviting foreigners is a good stepping stone to giving the best of them experience, laying the groundwork for one of them to go far and maybe even win And didn't you have fun watching Sen, even though he lost? Isn't it nice to see how he did? He wasn't destroyed, not by a long shot. He took his lumps very well. I'd rather see someone play that worked for their spot instead of being handed it based on popularity and country of origin. You might, but more people are interested in foreigners vs koreans. I bet when idra plays it will be the most watvhed night of gsl not including finals. Yeah sure you're probably right. I'm just saying that they undermine the whole "best of the best league" when they seed unproven players directly into code S. As a business decision it's understandable. Not really, Sen and Idra have beaten Code S players in the past, so they definitely *could* compete with a lot of the players in Code S. Asking a top tier player to forgo other tournaments, move to a country that uses a language they don't speak, etc. just so they can attempt to QUALIFY for the lowest league is ridiculous and would make it basically impossible for most foreigners (read: the good ones) to compete in the GSL. Seeds are fine as a one time thing (as in they don't get re-seeded after getting smashed) as they get a chance to either prove they deserve the seed or bomb out quickly if they don't deserve it.
To be fair, I think there have been somewhere in the region of 15 seeds given to foreigners and only Huk has managed to do anything but fail utterly. If I were a Korean pro, I would not be happy. That's why I respect Jinro so much.
But meh, I can understand why they do it, and maybe Idra can do OK when it's his turn.

I know it looks bad but while I was searching around playXP forum with google translator, I found overwhelmingly major or koreans prefer foreigner to be in GSL.
and most of them think the best scenario is MKP Idra final where MKP wins first 3 and lose next 4. So foreigner community explode and MKP 'wins' another 2nd place.
It doesn't look legit I know but if they dont care, why should we? For me, I got hell alot more excited because Sen was there last night.

Is anybody else getting really weird audio skipping in the vods? I am getting a stuttering like the video hasn't loaded completely even when it indicates that it has.

Yes, but he is in Up and downs already!

It's a real shame that Boxer could not advance and has to fall back to Code A. However, I remain hopeful because Boxer will still be in the GSL next season even if he does play very poorly for the rest of the season, and because even though he lost, he proved that he has Code S TvT, losing 1-2 to Ganzi (Code A winner and Ro4 GSL October) and Jjakji (reigning champion).
With the 2 foreigner seeds every tournament, the GSL will soon have a very diverse player pool, as it is unlikely that both Sen and Idra will finish last in their groups AND drop out in the first round of Code A. This means that even if both Idra and Sen fall to Code A, or if only one of them survives Code A for next season, 2 more foreigners will be seeded into Code S. Eventually, we could be seeing a pretty significant number of foreigners in the GSL.

Ahhh so close Boxer. He is now in up and down, but he is farther along in the format then Sen is for not getting last, correct?

Yeah, he's guaranteed at least Code A next season, unlike Sen who needs to win at least 1 set in Code A to remain in GSL.

Against Boxer, Sen had an overwhelming position in set1 and managed to lose it. Set2 was closer but Sen never looked like winning. I feel he will crash out of the GSL in the ro48.

can't wait to see forgg play x-x we totally need a hype thread already .-.

I did.
I'm a huge Sen fan, and he certainly has the potential to compete with these players, but he has to play smarter.
Truth to be told, if anyone has seen him stream on the ladder lately, his play is super shake-y and undisciplined.
He often overcommits and has a tendency to make sloppy decisions. He relies too much on talent to 'create' a winning situation, rather than making great decisions or solid army compositions.
As InControl on State of the Game: Sen is "a debacle" to watch, in the kindest sense of the word possible. Sen is capable of attacking with any combination of units at any time, and is usually so talented he can get away with it.
Not in Code S.
