There is a big difference between serbia and sweden though in terms of location and broadband infrastructure. And Mouz isn't playing from Serbia, so I don't really see how Beastys point would apply in this case...

As it stands now, Koreans almost always come out on top in live events, so naturally people will explain that lag plays a big role in foreigner success in online events. It's hard to say how much lag actually plays a part in the outcomes of things, but it's very easy to understand why people use lag as an excuse for Koreans in online events in the face of how Koreans typically dominate foreigners at live, lag-less events. for example many people delegitimize thorzains win over mc in TSL 3 because of lag although the game was played when mc was in DH invitational Stockholm.

By you guys I mean pretty much 90% of TL, in that they see a foreigner win a few games and the next thing you know they're good enough to compete with the top Koreans or at least get Code S. Then what do you know, they go to Korea, usually get gifted a spot into the GSL, and flop out hard.

He is well-respected by the korean players.

Some pros have also said that the lag is a big deal. For example, IdrA claims that online cross-server games are meaningless due to the lag.

I think Koreans have a huge advantage when it comes to GSL format because their build preparation are much better.

a delay of 1-2sec would mean a ping of 1000-2000. i can guarantee you that isnt the case. the most likely scenario here is that euros play with a 0.1-0.3 sec delay and maybe the koreans have 0.2-0.4 at most. whats way more important is the stability of the ping and lagspikes.

Man, nowhere am I saying TZ is bad or mediocre. I personally think he's the best foreigner terran, and probably a top 5 foreigner overall. It just pisses me off that people think those games are somehow proof that he's Code S class or can compete with MVP. People said the same about Naniwa, and he's something like 1-10 in Korea, or Stephano, who was hyped at the best zerg in the world by people on this site and then did so-so in comparion when he went over.

Meanwhile Yugioh had only Thorzain to focus on Thorzain just got to korea from Blizzard invitational. That's not something to be downplayed either.
